Depends what you mean. I've done a bit here and there but not like completely consistent (e.g 2/3 hours a day) only like a bit and i do most if not all homework. its not that i find anything difficult, its that its hard to priotise subjects especially when theres so much content

Have you got a revisiom time table I think its best to work on subjects you find hard now so tht youll have more time later to just work on a balnced timetable. Prioritising isnt always good cause u miss out other subjects. Also I totalky understand u i havent taken this week serioualy have done a bit but atm Im really struggling on keeping motivated for art gcse its my talent and passion but its just long atm ngl

For some reason im slowly losing motivation...

after doing some past papers, when I realised how many weaknesses I have i just feel like sh*t and that I won't be able to cover all my weaknesses

but my main problem is history-i looked at mark schemes and my teacher hasnt even taught us about some of the stuff. I looked through my class notes, revision guide she gave us and stuff is missed out. The fact that stuff is missed out even though there are piles and piles of content just pisses me off.

Idk what to do any more...I was so in hope of A* grades now it feels impossible. Idk why im telling this but how do you actually stay motivated and relaxed enough to cover everything?

If you need help in history Im always here im really good at it (got A*s both mocks)...so yh message me anytime. What board do u do?

I felt the same a few month ago. It's really not that hard. It also depends on the subject.

Well I got A's in all my mocks except history and computer science so they are my weakest. Further maths only started this year so im a little weak on that but my dad is teaching me at the moment so its alright

Personally I see it that if I want something bad enough then it will give me the drive to do If I slack too much, I don't want it as much as I thought

Try writing down your ultimate goal on a piece of paper and putting it in front of where you study

School bits:
Hi Everyone,

I'm in year 11 so I will be sitting my GCSEs in less than 100 days (eek). I also had mocks on the 22nd Feb so keeping this thread made sure I kept up with my revision. At the moment my targets and grades are:

(WJEC) English Language: A*
(WJEC) English Literature: A*
(Edexcel) Maths: A*
(OCR Gateway B) Biology: A*
(OCR Gateway B) Chemistry: A*
(OCR Gateway B) Physics: A*
(AQA) German: A*
(OCR Modern) History: A*
(AQA) Geography: A*
(OCR National) ICT: A*

Some of you may look at this and wonder how I can improve, but I set really high standards and in some of my mocks I have been getting 84/85 and scores like that, so I am working towards getting as high a mark as possible, and not just securing the grade.

Hopefully, if I can get the grades, I want to go on to college and study Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Geology.

Personal bits:
If you want a bit of background I've always been quite good academically (though I genuinely hate to admit it) but I believe it is down to the fact that I have severe Atopic Eczema (that the specialist said was the worst in 30 years) and because of this, I have found studying to be a worthy distraction. I also can't see out of my left eye which makes life interesting but I like it that way. If I can work hard enough, and get into University, I will be the first person in my family to do so, and considering my parents have barely any qualifications, this is definitely something I aspire to.

A few last words:
I am open to any advice or constructive criticism and I am happy to help anyone too.

If you want to find out more about me as a person I would be happy to post info and along the way, I will be detailing revision I have done, so if you would like to see pictures of it just let me know and I'll be happy to upload

Mocks (22nd Feb)
Here's the posts I made about the mocks I have just taken

MAN YOUR RESULTS ARE AMAZING!! I am really trying to aim high to, my background is the same as you, if I can, I#ll hopefully be the first one in my family to go to sixth form and then university and i really want that but I have not idea if my revision technique is working or...? How do you revise by the way, I know everyone revises different;y but then it stresses me out if Im doing it wrong without knowing ARGH! aha, but I also noticed we do the same bio, chem, maths and geog exams boards, If you want can we help each other? I really want to make my parents proud and not let anyone down...
Thanks

Hi - thanks for reading all this

And it's nice to hear of someone witha similar background, I understand the pressure you must feel

If you take a look at pages 19-20 (I think) then there should be some ways of how I revise for English Geography and science

And of course we can help each other, I'd be more than happy to do so
UPDATE FOR 01/04/16

Been at a show most of the evening but I have managed to:

Do source based questions for History - Vietnam

Look at the layout of Paper 1 - History

Maths calculator past paper

Physics 6 markers on Communication, Moon formation and stopping distances

German Higher listening paper and marked - 34/40 (A*)

Really not as much as I'd have hoped but the weather looks bleak for tomorrow so hopefully I should get lots done then

Thank you - It was fantastic and it was a school production of Bugsy Malone, my friends had bought me tickets to it for my bday

How has your day been?

Thanks - I didn't realise it was so unusual to drop so few marks - I thought everyone did it (plus I hate to admit it, as it makes me sound big headed).

Seems like you have a sound revision strategy, I'm sure you will ace your tests. And don't worry about not finishing everything yet. We have only finished physics but haven't even started B6 or C6 either so we both need to speed up I think

Tomorrow I'm going to outline a new strategy for my revision in terms of limiting distractions and things like that, so that I can be more focused and actually have productive days

Hi, I notice you said you didn't realise it was unusual to drop so few marks - I don't want to be presumptuous but do you go to a private school/grammar school? Just curious- feel free to ignore:smile:
Ps I've loved reading through your posts and picking up a few tips! I too am aiming for all A*s but finding the revision hard to keep up with sometimes!

I do French but really struggle with the listening exams! I know you do German but listening methods are similar for the two. Please can you give me tips for the listening as I can get A*'s for the reading but struggle with listening which makes the difference in my case from an A to an A*. Thank you!
