Hi guys,
I'm going on a holiday in May to the Jurassic Coast, Dorset, and I was wondering where the best places to search for fossils are? I've read that Charmouth, Seatown and Lyme Regis are good for fossils, but are there any other places I should know about?
any ideas?
Thanks

Fittingly it was also where Bram Stokers Dracula was written, I believe
There are some good fossil sites in Somerset aswell
Watchet and Kilve come to mind
I vaguely remember from a-level geology that Oxfordshire has a lot of dinosaur age fossils too, but I don't know where you could find them
Happy fossil hunting, here's to you finding one made out of iron pyrite

Pyritic ammonites are beautiful but imagine finding a pyritic ichthyosaur skull?
EDIT: I think you've found all the places yourself

Lyme Regis is well know for finding fossils and Chisel beach along the far ends near Abbotsbury. Did some fossil picking over there last week.

Not this time, I wasn't paying too much attention - but I've found some pieces before. I don't have much fossil knowledge so I have no idea what they are. I go along the coast quite often with friends to gather film footage with my camera and drone. Take a look.
