the mark scheme says + or - 4/15 but I just got 4/15 as it asked for the area and i thought the actual area cannot be negative,

Full marks. Well done. I agree with you re turning the negative answer into saying "the actual area is +4/15" that is very good! Your layout is neat and impressive. Any examiner would be impressed.
