Why do people vote labour?

Avoiding tax is perfectly acceptable.

Except that it's illegal.
And morally irresponsible.
Although you already know that, you just don't care - like all Tories, you only care about yourself.

Evasion is illegal but avoidance isn't. It's down to the people who make the laws to define the boundary. Since the main tax dodgers are Tory donors they'll continue to get away with it.

The only way to level the playing field is for small businesses to adopt this approach on a massive scale to force change.

Morals are always personal and you cannot subject other to them. In my opinion it is morally right to provide the best lifestyle for yourself and family.

Snoopers charter.

2006 racial and religious hatred act.

Ed Miliband wanted to broaden it and make "Islamophobia" illegal.

Jacqui Smith: make prostitution laws tougher, brought weed up from class c to b, against David Nutt's advice.
I vote labour because I believe that the vast majority of conservatives are rich ***** who just buy and bribe their way to their MP post while doing nothing to help society poorest and most vulnerable.

You can't really call a party who introduced the snooper charter giving them great powers of spying and intrusion into private lives as 'liberal'

If you english, you're a fool for not liking Jeremy Corbyn
If you American, then you trippin if you don't support Bernie Sanders

Why are you comfortable with a presidential candidate like Sanders who advocates protectionist policies which will result in hundreds of millions of people in the developing world being thrown back into extreme poverty?

Sorry to break this to you but the vast majority of people in developing countries already live in absolute poverty.
Socialism has never been given a chance to work. You don't know what Socialism is if you think there has been a socialist government in the last 60 years.
Capitalism has been given a chance to work and it doesn't work. USA and UK are capitalist countries and we the only reason we are well off is because billions of people around the world suffer.

First of all Sanders isn't a Socialist, he is a social democrat. Second of all this isn't about socialism and capitalism, it is about how trade benefits people in developing countries.

In the last 30 years or so global poverty has been going down because companies set up factories manufacturing products in developing countries, creating jobs for the people that are there. This is the difference between the poorest people in the world being able to feed themselves and the poorest people in the world starving. Bernie Sanders would rather bring a few million manufacturing jobs back to America (which may not even happen) than reduce global poverty by hundreds of millions. He his incredibly immoral.

If this isn't a battle between socialism and capitalism I won't talk about it.
Bernie Sanders has his faults but when you look at the other candidates Bernie is simply the best on offer. He believe in national healthcare, free education and he wants to break up the big banks (watch the Big Short if you don't think this is a good idea).

I agree with Bernie on healthcare in that I think it should be free at the point of use for everyone, I may disagree with him on the exact system but I don't have a big problem with him on that. As far as higher education goes personally I think we have the best system in the UK - there is still a cost to going to uni but everyone has access if they want it as a general rule. On the big banks, I think they are too big. Having said that my method for fixing the problem would be reducing regulations and barriers to entry. Cracking down on Wall Street is not an exclusively left wing idea, many of the more conservative and libertarian Republicans (Ted Cruz for example) want rid of corporatism.

Personally though I think his position on trade would be a disaster. If the richest country on the planet decided that it needed tariffs to protect its industries then more countries will follow and the future will be protectionist. The whole world will suffer. I'm sorry but it just makes him unelectable.
Because they don't want to vote conservative :colone:

I agree... although, you are asking a generally more left-wing forum this question...

>Labour
>Liberal

Labour aren't liberal. In many ways the tories are more liberal than labour.

People who vote for labour can sense people feelings, think everything happens for a reason such as screwed up in the head and try to help and make them useful in the world. While conservative type of people (who are more COMMON) because seeing what people feel and imagining if you was in their footsteps, they are also intelligent the people who vote for labour because investment = growth = lower % of debt keeping it at a steady level. Labour DID NOT cause global crisis, Britain isn't even that relevent in the world to even do that.

Example:

Conservatives want to make a surplus and think its good to keep our budget to maintain our budget. However labour side will view it as decreasing investment, lowering public services wages making them LESS competitive and causing problems (which it is) they also think we should have a competitive corportion tax but not TOO LOW like conservatives are doing.
Not everyone starts in life good and wants to improve, people who are conservatives smear at them and say " do it yourself its all here ", meanwhile they struggle with money and give up trying after a while thinking their a waste, while labour side would invest to support these people for a better life.

Conservative voters majority of the time angers me like these dummies above.

In my opinion countries like China NEED to be tariffed. They are flooding the market with incredibly cheap steel (they are making a loss on their steel) to kill off other industries, so that when they are the only steel industry left they can raise prices incredibly high. BRING ON THE TARIFFS IS WHAT I SAY.

China are exporting so much cheap steel because they needed it in the past with all the infrastructure they were building, but as their growth is slowing they aren't building so much infrastructure. They're not overproducing as a tactic to kill off competition, they're just doing what they can with the steel they have left over.

Besides what you're saying wouldn't work. Someone would just come along and make steel at a cheaper price and they would get such a big share of the market that China would have no choice but to reduce the cost.

Also, lots of things are made in China. It would be a bad move to get into a tariff war with them and severely disrupt our economy. Having a good relationship with them benefits us.

China just put a tariff on UK steel entering China so why shouldn't we? It's a really bad idea to be dependant on a single country for all our steel as well. That's why we need to save our own industry by saving Tata steel and putting tariffs on chinese steel in the short term to increase demand for british steel.
