Yes they can. It's the societal pressures/expectations which make single women feel upset if they are single. If the pressures weren't present or just ignored then a lot more single women would be happier.

Yes, if the man is abusive, lazy, or just boring it can be vastly beneficial to be single.
As we can see any woman without a man is deeply sad and always feeling down so no it is impossible for a woman to be happy without a man.
