I was merely pointing out that actually the private sector completely out with any NHS funding (so not the stuff you're talking about) is free to offer whatever services it wants - there are private GPs, private hospitals etc completely separate from the NHS and CCGs.
I've not had any experience with the NHS myself but I'm aware that it does do a great job for the general public

I was born in KG's too! My mum liked it...
But tbh, under the NHS you can choose what hospital you can be referred to, so I mostly use UCLH if need be...

My experiences have been awful. From the constant failure of diagnosing stuff (I now have a head injury because of that) and the lying. Oh, and they've accused my parents of lying too.

and when I got into a fight at about midnight one evening last year, with a tooth broken and a punctured bottom lip, I was waiting at a hospital for somebody to see me for 6 HOURS. the fact that they wouldn't even give me some ****ing ICE meant that I now have a permanent lip scar. and while they practically forced me to go to the hospital that night (they took me there in an ambulence), they didn't take me home even though I could hardly move.
the NHS waiting times too in general (e.g. at a GP surgery) is usually ****ing crazy - even when I'm the ONLY PERSON IN THE WAITING ROOM at 8:30am, I still have to wait like 20-30 minutes. really? are you serious? what are you making me wait for? there's no queue. there's nobody in front of me. are they just messing around on their computer for 30 minutes or something? I'm being serious - the waiting times do give me this impression.

I wasn't rep whoring !!! I meant like write stories.
Although there have been some negative stories too but I mean it's all about balance.
Although there have been some diagnoses that were too late to do much in my dad, grandmothers and grandfathers' cases i do still have the upmost respect for those working in the nhs (i did used to want to work in it but decided it wasnt for me), fortunately i m quite healthy. But in any bad times for the most part i've nothing put compassion from the geneticist that reassured me that even if I had the condition my dad had they would be ready to do everything possible to help me to the nurse that understood how traumatic it was being in a hospital where i d lost close relatives and held my hand whilst I had an ultrasound done and the 3 student nurses who watched me on the worst night of my life despite probably never experienced a child in that situation before.

I'm sorry about your parents with the waiting list thing.
But your personal wait times especially 20-30 minutes in a gp surgery do not seem that bad. And they aren't messing around on their computer. I can guarantee that.

Ice isn't going to make a difference to your scar.

Did A&E bring up that therapy?
I've not had a great time with the NHS tbh. Rushed to the hospital with appendicitis, they wanted to operate as soon as possible so they said they weren't going to put me on painkillers and I'd be operated on that night. In actuality, it took a day and a half before I was taken into the operating theatre. A day and a half without painkillers was not fun.

yeah, because walking almost 8 miles home with a ****ed up ankle is ****ing nothing. no sweat, baby, right? all hail the NHS for taking 6 hours to sew my lip shut and doing nothing about my broken tooth! what an age we live in! I get to pay taxes to wait 6 hours to have a person see me when there are doctors walking all around the hospital at the time.

What about a taxi in such an extreme circumstance ? I took a taxi to the hospital today.

Sorry mate. We have people in Ireland lying on Trolleys for 24 hours plus and they pay 100 euros to go to A and E.
There are serious emergencies in A and E. A broken lip isn't of them. IF you are unhappy waiting 6 hours for an understaffed NHS then go home. No one is forcing you to stay.
Get your parents or friends to pick you up. The NHS isn't there to provide a taxi service.

1) I got knocked out and woke up in an ambulance. I think that's *slightly*, *kind of*, *possibly*, *perhaps*, *maybe* serious.
2) comparing the NHS with another country makes the NHS better objectively or merely via comparison? is north korea great because there are certain african countries that are worse then? same kind of argument really.
3) I was at uni, hundreds of miles from my parents. and my friends at uni don't have cars. I didn't have my wallet either. I only tend to bring my ID and *some* notes (which I spent) on nights out (when it happened).
