Midwifery applicants for 2016 - 2017

I heard back from Napier on the 17th of March and was invited to an interview. I went for an Interview for Robert Gordon on the 15th of Feb but still haven't heard back yet. I know the unconditionals have gone out, anyone got a conditional or a rejection yet?

Hey i was wondering if anyone could help i would like to midwifery for 2017 and i am 90% sure however i am not currently doing biology would this affect my chances of getting in for London unis ( really looking to go kings London )
i was also wondering if you can specialty in midwifery one of the problem i feel like i'm having is that when i do my degree i feel like i can only do midwifery so are there any specialties areas that i could do i'm aware of teen pregnancy and that's all.
if your studying midwifery currently how do you find it ?

Hey, Iv just been accepted for midwifery at Kings college London. You need to have your GCSE's and A levels or equivalent (Such as an Access course- which I'm doing!) including biology as a subject. If you haven't got these you could do an access course which will give you these grades to get in. This is if you're over 19 though! Try looking at the entry requirements on the Kings website and if there is an alternative. Hope this helps!

YAAYYY! I got an unconditional from UWL! super excited! i was just wondering, what happens now? I've got the unconditional subject to passing my health a police checks? Do i have to do that myself? I'm clearly a newbie to the application process lol

I have a conditional offer from UWL and have accepted the offer. The health check they do when you enrol and the police check they made you do when you went for your interview. Congratulations! Bdw make sure you start sorting your bursary things out!

Hi. I am due to start an access course in September to get into uni to do midwifery. I'l be 32 in January and I have a toddler. I'm getting a little bit scared after reading so much negativity around the career.
I've read that some midwives haven't been able to get jobs and some that did have jobs, abandoned ship. I'm wanting to better myself and have a financially secure future for my little family. I'm losing sleep over what I've read. Are there any midwifes that have newly qualified that can share their experiences? Also any that have juggled the degree with small children, any input would be much appreciated.

I've pretty much bought everything haha! Anatomy and physiology for midwives, ballieres midwives dictionary, all midwifery essentials, Oxford handbook of midwifery, plum stethoscope, fob watch and Clarkes unloops! Also my student midwife planner from the happy planner company came yesterday! My offer is firmed and unconditional so I'm going mad x

hi, if you don't mind me asking, how did you get an unconditional offer?

Hi! I am aiming to apply this year to start next year, I'm soo nervous about not getting onto the course as I have no professional experience, do I have any hope of getting in as it's so selective anyway! I'm also nervous about the shifts and childcare, don't suppose anyone has any idea what the shifts are like? I'll be applying to uni of beds and know their uni and placements are split through the week as opposed to nursing which is block placements.
Any advice/chat would be great!
