No problem! And not too bad actually. I've managed to put my self in a good position in the Easter holidays by catching up on all my notes and doing plenty of past papers. Just got a Biology EMPA tomorrow and I am stressing about it haha! I'll just have to see how it goes.

I wish you all the best of luck for your EMPA tomorrow (I have no idea what's that is though haha)! It seems like you're up to date with all your revision which is amazing, what A Levels are you doing and what grades are you aiming to achieve?

Haha well we've done the practical at least 10 times but who's i've lost count tbh. Same! I literally am going to drop out of school if I have to do any more titration a (praying to God it doesn't come up in A2).

And yepp I've looked into Cambridge, Imperial/UCL, Southampton, Kings and perhaps a Uni in Germany. What about you?

That sucks! Haha, I will die if it comes up in A2 as well - I just hope I have a good chemistry teacher next year, my current one sucks -.-

How ironic, I crossed off Cambridge, Imperial/ UCL off my list straightaway - oooooh, Germany! That's a first! I've been looking at Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool but I'm still doing my research. So are you looking at more lecture based uni's?

Me too, I don't have the best chemistry teachers at the moment which is slightly worrying. And that's really cool! They're all in different locations, are you planning to move far away from home? I visitors Southampton last week and the journey took 2 and a half hours, so that will probably be my last option because I'm seriously not bothered for long journeys. I'm thinking I might just stay in London/ close to london, unless it's cambridge  and yeah I prefer lectures for some reason (always liked learning a lot of information then putting it into practice when I've learnt it all). How comes you ticked those off if I may ask?

It's the worst when you get another teacher for some reason and she/he is brilliant and you're just like "damn". I actually thought my current teacher was ok but realised how much he sucks when I went to another teachers easter school yesterday.

I would LIKE to move far away from home, far away from my boring village in the North of England but my parents are completely against it  oh well, who cares? I forgot to mention Keele btw, can't believe I forgot that one.

So you want to stay at home then? (Assuming you live in london) Haha, but isn't there another uni you liked? Because the pessimist in me says that could be the only offer you get . And you're really lucky location wise, my parents either don't want me to move or move to London but London is too expensive for me. The nearest uni to me is UCLAN -.-. Ahh, it's the exact opposite to me, I find myself getting really tired and tuning out in lectures.

I crossed them off because they have compulsory intercalation, lecture based courses and are located in London - all of which are no-nos.

I know it's so bad, I only realised when I started comparing my teachers to my friends teachers who go to other schools. I always thought I'd move far away from home but then I thought against it because I would need my mum to cook for me every weekend :colondollar: so I still want to move out, but I want to be in London so I won't have to travel that far to get back home (I live in London) and I'm pretty sure student finance will be able to cover everything fine if we learn to manage our money so I'm not too concerned about living in London, I've been to UCL about 3 times and I've loved going there every time! I really like the city vibe, so I'm not sure if I would be willing to consider any uni that's all on campus, which is again another reason why Southampton would probably be on the bottom of my list. And to be honest, I'm just going go wait on my UKCAT and AS results before I start deciding because my decisions may change drastically if everything doesn't go to plan haha. I've just always been more centred towards lectures and stuff (though I might change my mind later on as I've heard 9am lectures are the worst). When are you gonna start preparing for the UKCAT btw?

Thanks for the heads up.. need all the luck I can get on this.
Doing Maths, Chemistry and Biology and need AAA
But I reckon i'm aiming for
Maths A*
Chem A*/A
Bio A

I'm just worrying a little about Biology as I haven't performed well throughout the year on that, but I have worked on it.
In terms of revision I feel like i've only just about caught up but i've been trying to go all out recently so i'm hoping to keep my revision up to date and going well.

So all the chemistry teachers in your school are bad? :s-smilie: that sucks - at my college, if my teacher sucks, we can just go to another teacher's extra help lesson.

:ahee: you and all my friends - won't you learn how to cook for yourself pretty quickly though? I'm not too worried about the whole cooking/laundry/cleaning thing, I'm already doing it now. Aaah, so already degree of independence then? My parents want me to go to Manchester or Lancaster ot something nearby so I can still come back home (my dad wants me to commute everyday wtf - I already waste so much time travelling to and from college and I don't even live that far from it - public transport sucks here) Yeah, I suppose if you're good with spending, living in London will be fine but I heard a lot of students can't really enjoy the nightlife (not that I will be participating in such nonsense) but I assume it's the same with socialising in general and I like socialising :P (which has turned out to be my greatest downfall this easter hols because I can't bear to be alone) Ahh, I had originally looked at city campuses as well but then realised there aren't many uni's that are city based so I think as long as it's I'm a city, it's fine by me (the nearest City to Keele is Manchester tho which is 45 minutes away) Oh yeah, best to wait and see before getting our hopes up I suppose. I don't know :frown: I don't wanna do it - but I'll definitely be booking the UKCAT for around end of August but some people recommend 2 weeks and others, 4 weeks - I'll probably start in mid - June just because I'm not going to be intensively revising it - I still need to enjoy the summer holidays!

They're amazing if I achieve them haha. I really can't slip!! In terms of uni it's a little bit of a long story but I didn't get offered med so if I do get the grades I will be taking a year out and re applying. I do have an offer for pharmacy though so I may take that on if I don't get minimum of 3A's

My school in general is really bad :frown:
I'd say I'm already pretty good at taking care of myself in terms of cookie etc. :u: and I heard Manchester is amazing so you should definitely look into that, is that's what you're interested in. And same here, I can't see myself being that interested in nightlife and all that, I don't drink or anything so I doubt I'll be spending any money towards partying or just going out in general unless it's for special occasions. I'm dreading the UKCAT as well, it honestly seems like the most boring thing I'll be doing all summer, I'm going to India to do a bit of work experience in a clinic which should be very interesting but as soon as I get back I'm going to go straight into revising for my UKCAT, perhaps the BMAT, writing my personal statement and trying to get my drivers license. I can see the next year being extremely busy and stressful :frown: I'm sure we'll manage just fine though :h:

Pharmacy sounds really interesting, have you had a look at the course yet? It would still be pretty great if you could get into medicine next year though, I know that's the dream for a lot of us
Hey, just wanted to say this is a nice thread! It makes me feel more relieved, as I started revision about a month and a half ago also
But it feels like I started only yesterday something aha
I'm hoping to do med also! Jan mocks didn't go brilliantly, got a D in C1 which is ridiculous but I've done so much since then
An A in chem, we only had two mocks

I take:
Chemistry OCR A
Biology AQA
Physics AQA
Mathematics OCR

My little update:

We've had three weeks for Easter: in the first I only focused on Stats, as I'm mega bad at it (well thankfully not anymore I think!!) and went though all of exam solutions, now I'm going through worked examples in the textbook before I attempt any papers. Nearly done with those
Averaged about 4 hours daily- really badddddd I know but the exam solutions guy is a little overwhelming sometimes ahah

Week two I completed chemistry notes, half of bio notes, did some more stats
Averaged about 6-7 hours daily, happier with that

Week three (now) I've been doing physics notes, chemistry and bio reviewing, completed notes (but we've not completed course so haven't made final notes on those bits), stats examples and C2 examples as we have a C2 mock on the Monday back D: and a stats mock on the Wednesday
Averaged about 7 ish hours daily, now upping to ten as I have no choice hahaha

Easter break has been kinda productive I guess, only now have three days left though!!!! so aim to do 10 hours a least per day then probably a little less on the Sunday before school. Going to a friends on sat so may do a little less then also D:

Today was productive, I got through about 4 hours of S1, 3 of C2, 3 of Physics, then made some more biology flashcards and looked over chemistry in the morning
Also made sure to do 1 hr of yoga/ meditation to keep myself sane

Probs will go to sleep v late as I'm not at all tired rn and its 10- intend to complete half of all physics notes before bed and do a few more S1 examples. But will sleep as soon as I'm tired

Aiming for AAAA, why not loool fingers crossed I am gonna give it everything

When you say school, do you mean you stayed at the sixth form in your high school? Cuz I'm so used to calling it college now and school sounds weird

I already went to the Manchester uni open day (the only one I've been to so far oops) and I just didn't like it - you know you have that gut feeling? Yeah, that'd what happened, didn't like it, I don't know why though lol.

Ooh, fellow teetotaler? I mostly see myself spending too much money on clothes and food like I do now  One of the things I'm afraid about uni is that all my friends will be out drinking and clubbing all the time and I...won't. :frown:

Oooh! That sounds so cool! I wanted to do a similar thing as well but my parents thought it was too much money :frown:

Ugh, i forgot all about driving lessons, I have a feeling that one is going to be put on the back burner until about October time when we submit our personal statements and all we can do is sit and twiddle our thumbs. Yeah, but I suppose if we wanna be doctors, then the rest of our life is gonna be this stressful - that's another thing I'm worried about, that I won't be able to have a life outside of work - my dad's a doctor but it's alright for him now because he's a consultant but I imagine as a junior doctor, it must be horrendous.

I don't even know you but I'm so proud of you! Keep up the good work I know you can get those grades if you continue. Seriously though, the amount of work you have done is amazing you should be very happy with yourself:h: that type of motivation and determination is going to get you very far. Let me know what you got in the mocks coming up, I have a C2 mock in my first week back from school so I'm looking forward to that but I'm definitely not looking forward to my S1 mock. I've been slacking recently but I'm trying to pick up the pace. Good luck with the rest of your revision!

Haha, yeah I stayed at the same school. Kinda wish I didn't though :frown:

Yeah I know that feeling! It's okay I'm sure there will be a lot more open days this year in the summer as well as September/October-ish.

Me too! I only ever end up spending my money of clothes and food these days I can't really see myself changing my ways anytime soon. I've come to terms with the fact that my friends would probably go out a lot and I'll just be at home working or watching movies

Same here, I'm really anxious about what being a doctor might be like, it's really bad for us girls as well because I heard that you won't be able to realistically get married, settle down and have kids until after your foundation years which I find super annoying (I've always wanted to be a young mum but oh well). And that's so cool that your dad's a doctor! Have you asked him about almost everything to do with being a doctor? I know I would
So today I'm starting my revision again. I lost an entire piece of my German work which is annoying because it took me no less than 5 hours to do so I have to redo that but I'm hoping it won't take as long this time round. I've completely neglected all my homework so I'm going to be focusing on doing that today, tomorrow and on Sunday because I'm not trying to get shouted at by my teachers  if I can I'll try to squeeze in a bit of C2 today but I doubt I'll be able to do that, I've got a dentist appointment (these can take up to 2 hours in the waiting room I hate it) and then I've got 4 hours of tuition.

Aww, I'm definitely glad I didn't stay, it would've been awful if I had.

Yeah, I'm hopefully gonna attend them all in the summer but my main issue is that I still have college after exams -.- and I don't wanna go alone but none of my friends have started thinking about uni yet and I can't keep dragging my mum to far flung places :/

Haha! *high five* I'm so bad at saving money up cuz I'm so used to just asking my mum for more money when I need it lol. Aww, I don't think I could ever do that! I'd feel too left out but I'm kinda worried about being able to fit in as well :/ I'm and asian muslim and normally, all the asians club together and all the white people together but for some reason, I just ended up making friends with white people and that's alright at college, but I'm not so sure with uni.

WHAT?! I didn't hear about that bit but then that means I'll be 25 before I can even start looking and I bet all my non-medic friends will all be married by then -.- Aww, that's a shame, you have to give up 1 dream to follow another.

Haha, I haven't. Whoops. But when I announced I wanted to be a doctor, he was originally completely against it and kept telling me for a long time to consider other career options, ANYTHING BUT MEDICINE, but that just made me want to be a doctor even more lol. He said it's a very stressful life and that there are other jobs that are just as rewarding, more high paying and give you a better work life balance. And I know of a girl who decided she no longer wanted to be a doctor because she realised if she became one, she wouldn't be able to spend much time with her family.

Yeah that's true, you can't really drag everyone everywhere. Maybe you could ask some cousins or something, or check if your college is arranging trips.

I'm East and West African Muslim (I know my name is misleading I just don't want people I know to identify me haha) so I'm on the same boat as you! Hopefully we'll be able to make friends from all different races when we get to Uni :h:

My maths teacher told me about her friend who had a child in her foundation years and was struggling soooo much! So that really suck :frown:

And that's a first! Usually parents really want their children to be doctors. To be honest if it becomes too much I suppose there's nothing wrong with only working part time (provided you can do that idk if it exists).

I haven't got any cousins in England :frown: I've only got 2 but they're 10 and 7 (i think) and they live in london -.-

Haha, I assumed you were white this whole time because of your name but I get you, I'm the same lol. Hopefully, yeah! I think it depends on your personality, when it comes to making friends at uni, I'm really social so *fingers crossed* I'll be able to make loads of new friends but I know a lot of people struggle at first.

Oh no! Thanks for telling me that, I'll try not to get pregnant then lol

I know! Especially because everyone always assumes that my parents are forcing me into medicine because I'm an Asian -.- stupid stereotypes. Yeah I suppose so, but you'd still have to do night shifts and weekends and holidays and I was talking to a Muslim female doctor once and she said that she would definitely bump down into part time to have a family but it meant that it would take her far longer to specialise (around 10 years as a registrar she said)

Yeah I suppose so, but you'd still have to do night shifts and weekends and holidays and I was talking to a Muslim female doctor once and she said that she would definitely bump down into part time to have a family but it meant that it would take her far longer to specialise (around 10 years as a registrar she said)

Aww that's a shame, you could always just go to the ones that you really want to see on your own although it might end up being a bit boring

Haha that means it's working! And I was talking to a current medic student at UCL and they mentioned how everyone is really anxious at first because it's not an experience that anyone's ever gone through before which really reassured me.

That really sucks, I wouldn't want my children by any means growing up without their mother, but like you mentioned earlier, you win some, you gain some.
