University of Birmingham - Nursing (2016)

I got a conditional offer for this course like 2 weeks ago. I just thought I'd make a thread for other offer holders too. I want to firm this offer, will anyone else?

Hi! I've got my interview on Wednesday for Nursing at Birmingham Uni, just wondering whether anyone could give me an insight into what it was like and what they got asked?
Also, was there a maths ano English test during the interview process?

Please help!!

Basically you watch a video which is like 5 minutes and you can make notes. Then you have an english test which is really pretty straightforward (only 20 minutes). Then you have an interview with two interviewers and they ask like 6 questions only; and they are pretty general, just the usual - why nursing? Why Birmingham? One question about the video, reactions to people of different cultures and because I talked about Duke of Edinburgh on my application they asked me about that too.

Hi!

I'm studying the international baccalaureate but they're asking for really high grades so I'm nervous. I hope they'll be a little lenient because it's nursing and they've met me a,ready ... Xx

My name is Safiyyah. I'm still not sure if I want to live at uni or commute because birmingham is only a 15 minute train journey away but I'm thinking it might be easier to stay in halls because of placements and night shifts and all that.

I've also firmed it! Me too, I am so worried, I hope if I drop a grade they'll be lenient. I'm not applying through A2B because I'm not eligible for it :frown: whats your name btw?

I hope they do accept you if you do drop a grade. And even though the A2B scheme reduces the grade to BBC i have to do an online test, pass it and do an essay during the holidays and i have to pass it for them to reduce the grade. Nothing comes easy unfortunately. A2 is so much harder than last year i dont know how i'll cope with the exams i am worried too. My name is Hind, and i am gussing yours is safiyyah?

Omg all of that! wow! It really is, I was talking to one of my teachers today and I told her that the jump from GCSE to AS is tiny compared to the jump from AS to A2. Lovely name and yeah haha my name is Safiyyah. Will you be staying on campus?

Thanks. I hope we all do well and go to uni in october. No, i live locally and it takes me around 20 minutes to get to the university. Are you going to stay on campus? And which type of nursing will you be choosing in the second year?
