The only thing making me angry here is that none of them are being allowed in islamic countries in the middle east, just giving Europe the full burden.

They're allowed to claim asylum and EU have put in reforms to send away migrants that dont comply with the requirements.

It's pathetic seeing how much of a pussy the Italian army and navy is. Pump a few bullets into those boats and watch them sink into the sea. I don't think the Africans will come after that.

I feel angry because I live in Cornwall not far from Scilly. It's our towns that are gonna be flooded by migrants. The Scilly Islands depend heavily on tourism, but nobody is gonna go if they're full of migrants. We depend on tourism across the Westcountry. It's the only significant industry left. Our tiny villages are the last bastion of traditional Kernow/ England and its church bells we want to hear not morning prayer call 5 times a day!

So, on the one hand, we have people fleeing their homes in fear of their lives, including from genocidal religious fundamentalists. But on the other hand, some people think the aesthetic of their "traditional" villages would be tarnished if black and brown people lived there.

People will be less likely to make the "journey" when they know that doing so means they run the risk of being filled with lead before reaching land.

At the moment there is no real deterrent to discourage them and that is why they keep coming.

Ya such a wonderful humanitarian idea. The government could issue hunting licences to make a few bucks and the towns folk could stand on shore using these loathsome bits of desperation for target practice. Good on ya mate.

Our local tourist industry has been struggling for decades, bad weather lack of development and cheap holidays abroad has all but killed tourism off. We now have a tide of migrants landing in Scilly who are gonna swamp our local villages and tourist sites driving even more people away whilst instead of bringing in money they're being a cost and drain to local society.

I've seen what happens with migrants in Austria. We went skiing in January. The village we stopped (a peaceful crime free Tyrollean village) was swamped with migrants. Several friends had ski equipment stolen including an expensive top spec GoPro camera.
We were stared at, constantly accosted for money. Young Women were starred at by them. We stopped for a meal out at lunch time and left our table to watch a ski act and got back to find our food had been stolen. Some charming migrant had grabbed handfuls of the food from our plates
We've never experience this sort of behaviour in Austria. We payed a lot of money for that holiday and saw migrants having a better time than us skiing around on stolen equipment cutting up other skiers they were a bloody dangerous nuisance.
We certainly won't be going back next year of that lots still loitering around.
