[Foreign Student] Best for Law? Reading, Cardiff, Queens Belfast, Essex & Liverpool?

Hello everyone!
I've received offers from Reading, Cardiff, Queen's university in Belfast, Essex & Liverpool.
It may seem like I'm so greedy to apply so many unis but the program I'm doing now is the UK transfer program (2+1) so I'm going to spend my 3rd year in the UK!! *I applied through UCAS
I'm in dire need for advices as 1 year is not long so I wanna make sure that I'm not going to regret this!

I'm looking for:
- which uni is the best (or considerably good) in terms of academics, employability and social life.
Queens is so out of town but the uni sounds good, <<< CAN U SEE THAT DILEMMA THERE
- I'm hoping to make friends with the locals !
- And also to find a part-time job around the uni so that I could afford travels to Europe

However, If I couldn't hit the requirements set by these unis (the requirements are quite high tho), I can still apply to Northumbria, Herfortshire and Nottingham Trent. Do give some advices on these uni too!

By the way, I'm a Chinese Malaysian and I'm hoping to make friends with the locals to improve my English speaking! I've heard that Liverpool is full with China students, is it true? If it is, I might wanna consider choosing a uni with more percentage of locals. *I sound so racist but trust me I've no intentions to be racist!! I just want to experience difference culture and backgrounds rather than mixing with my own 'species'. LOL

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!! I REALLY NEED SOME COMMENTS!!!p

Hi, I am a third year student at the University of Essex, however I am currently on my year abroad in Australia. There are students from over 130 different countries at Essex, therefore you would get a chance to not only meet a lot of locals but also students from all over the world! It is a very diverse university and a great way to experience different cultures and languages. According to The Complete University Guide Essex is ranked 34th in the UK (2016), out of 127 universities, which means it is in the top third.

You are able to get a job on campus, have a look at this website for more information http://www.essex.ac.uk/vacancies/. These are paid and are flexible so you are able to fit your shifts around your studies, also there is no transportation needed so they are a great opportunity! These can include frontrunner placements or jobs within the Student Union. Colchester's town centre is a short bus ride away, therefore you could have a look for a job in the town centre.

The social life at the University of Essex is excellent! There are events going on most nights either at the Student Union bar, where they hold karaoke events and quiz nights, or the night club on campus called Sub Zero. There are also bars, cafes and restaurants on campus, which are great places to go and socialise with people. There are many sports teams that are free to join and you are able to attend 'Just Play' sessions where you can play for fun and not as part of a team, or you can choose to be on a team if you wish. This is a great way to meet new people and keep fit! There are so many societies at Essex that you are sure to find one that you are interested in and meet new people with the same interests as you. You can also start your own society if there is nothing that takes your fancy!

The University of Essex is a really fun and social place to work and socialise! If you have any other questions about it feel free to ask  ^Sam

Hi Sam! Thank you for your sharing! Essex sounds great with the jobs offer in the campus and the social life around Essex. But are the uni separated into 2 campuses ? Coz I'd my prefer a uni that is placed in a main campus doing can get around the campus easily. 😆😆what course are u taking btw?

Hello,

There is a website called http://feel.news/ which is all about stories from current students at their universities. You might find what you're looking for there.

Have a great day,

Thanks Ecro but I could only find Essex......not that helpful as it seems like it was written by some of the students paid by uni to recommend their own uni. Correct me if I'm wrong

Hello,

The site has published around 4-5 stories about the University of Essex. Have you checked them all out? I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for, and the stories aren't just about the positives, they talk about the negative sides of the university, too.

Have a great day,
Ecro
None of them are particularly great but QUB is the best of your choices as it has a good international and domestic reputation

Hi, there are actually three campuses at Essex, these at Colchester (which is the main one), Southend and Loughton, however Loughton campus is an acting school. I study Management and Marketing at the Colchester campus, which has a great atmosphere! When applying I also looked around the Southend campus, but in my opinion I preferred Colchester campus because it is bigger and is easy to get around and they offer more types of accommodation. ^Sam

Thanks for the reply. I've heard quite a number of good reviews about QUB but the only drawback is ....it's quite far from the main cities like London?? Wouldn't it be too bored to live there? Because some of students from England who study in QUB will travel back to England on weekends coz there's nothing much to do there.
