First time in NHS history

Poll

The junior doctors' strike now affects emergency care. Do you still support it?

From the guardian:

Specialists from other hospital departments will be drafted into A&E units on Tuesday and Wednesday to help with the extra pressures caused by junior doctors’ decision to withdraw cover from emergency care areas for the first time in the NHS’s 68-year history.

Something needs to be done about Jeremy Hunt, but compromising healthcare even more than it already has been isn't the solution.
Support the Junior Doctors to the hilt.
Jeremy Hunt could have prevented this strike months ago by removing the threat of imposition. Simple as.
Yes, fully support the doctors.

If we don't give the doctors a fair deal they will move abroad.
The moment people's operations and pregnancy inductions became in danger of being postponed is the moment it was clear they're in it for the money and nothing else.

Support the Junior Doctors. Media bias on this topic is incredible.

I fail to see the connection, here.
Of course I still support them. Nothing in this article suggests anything irresponsible on their part. They're striking, the NHS is taking sensible measure to ensure emergency services remain functional. The news story should be how many times Junior Doctors have had to strike and the government still hasn't gotten the message.

But don't you think this is an imitation game type scenario?

They might be saying, a few now rather than millions to come?

I'm still undecided, but maybe the government told themselves a few months back, if it gets to this point, they'll back out and we win?
Still support them in their struggle.
Completely support them. Even by Tory standards, Jeremy Hunt is a disgrace.

Definitely support them.

I haven't seen anywhere a substantive critique of the new contract explaining step-by-step what the junior docs disagree with, why they do, and what they would want instead. To me this strike is now based on nothing and is more of a personal vendetta against Hunt than the actual contract. Assuming NHS Employers are correct, the maximum number of working hours are being reduced and the maximum number of consecutive nights will fall too. No one has explained where these extra hours Junior Docs vaguely complain about are coming from. Until that happens I can't support a strike on emergency services.

Look on the BMA site. The letters they exchanged with the government are on there detailing the offers and counter offers.
I see Hunt is still peddling the '7 day NHS line'. The NHS is 7 days already, idiot.

Not one of us would accept a 30% pay cut, would he accept a 30% pay cut? Of course not.

Deary me.
Because they are having a 30% pay cut forced upon them.
