Economics - King's VS Surrey

Guys, I would appreciate if you could give some thought what uni to choose! Im planning to study economics. Choosing between King's and Surrey. Thanks in advance!

thanks! my main concern is subject vs general ratings. Surrey is ranked higher in economics than King's. Surely, king's is in top 20 in the world.

ignore rankings completely Kings is several tiers above surrey in any regard. That same table places UEA and Portsmouth above the London School of Economics.

surrey has a much stronger economics department than kings and graduate prospects and starting salary are higher. it is ranked higher for a reason.(guardian ranking is pretty weird tho...) surrey is more sociable but however not as highly respected as kings (which is unfortunate) because it hasnt been around for as long.IMO from what i've seen and researched, surrey is better for economicsbut if your doing it due to ranking and reputation and not quality of research. then by all means pick kings.

Salary as a metric is silly, completely depends on what job you end up doing and where you work. Whether one uni's avg is £1k more than another's tells us sweet f all. Not to mention, it's wrong to begin with: KCL's management dept averages £30k (from 25 data points) and Surrey's Econ averages £29k (from only 15 data points).

KCL in this situation would win for the career areas that econ graduates tend to find interesting (namely banking) based purely on the number of firms actively recruiting and the flow of graduates to various solid roles.

actually starting salary of those that actually go to surrey to do economics done by the university and not unistats is £32,000 for a sandwich course. and they land pretty good jobs with banking, finance and investment firms. kings is APPARENTLY 25k for just economics via unistats but most likely 28k+.
To be fair kings. its really up to the person. just saying both are fantastic unis wiht one having that 'classy reputation' compared to the other. management is a fantastic course which pretty much looked at at all firms.
