Please can someone explain this to me? It seemed so random, what topic is this supposed to be from?

Microwave and IR radiation can only interact with polar molecules. Which of these is polar?

cyclohexanol. it contains a polar OH bond which can absorb IR radiation. the bonds in other molecules are non polar. therefore, IR radiation cannot be absorbed.
