Im sorry but if your daughter walks up to you one day and says 'Daddy I want a penis' thats a ****ing mental disorder.

Agreed there is plenty of stupid stuff in the dsm but it was designed to ensure practically everyone could be diagnoes with something to make the pharmaceuticals make more money out of us and for therapists to get more money

Well, mental disorders is a problem though. And, what do you do when you have a problem? You look for a solution. Don't you want these people to get the correct help and treatment that they need to get better?

Brain scans change depending on what you have eaten, mood, task you are carrying out, what you did earlier on, what you are thinking etc.

I did neurology as part of my course.

It's your opinion that transgenderism is a problem/mental disorder, not mine. I agree they should receive help and support to become their true gender, and also to deal with any issues such as bullying.

And we are back to people saying gender is different from sex. If that was the case then you can define someone's personality by being male or female which you can't.

Its not an opinion, its simply a fact. Transexuality is a mental disorder no matter how you define it.

I definately agree with your earlier posts though that the government needs to do more to adress the issue of bullying transexuals.

Each to their own, we can agree to disagree. But yes, it's vital that individuals receive support to reduce suicide rates and just in general to reduce unhappy individuals.
It is. However, people need to stop the assumption that just because it is a mental disorder, doesn't make it inherently abhorred. Transsexuality is hugely different to homosexuality and bisexuality.

Nonetheless there is sufficient evidence to suggest that there are differences in male and female brain structures, especially the BSTc region
