Glasgow Accomodation: Med/Dental

Where do all the medicine/dental students stay in their first year?
I've looked at Murano, and QM, of which neither fully appealed to me (especially the shower situation and distance from school/dental hospital), however, for the sake of having a social life, I've chosen to lower my expectations a wee bit.
Anyone else wondering where they're living.....?

Honestly one of the reasons I rejected Glasgow for medicine was the poor quality accommodation (at least in my opinion) and hearing poor reviews from others

I mean, they're all crap. Newcastle was a bit newer, Birmingham wasn't that great, King's was even smaller than the above mentioned, and Sheffield wasn't great. They're ALL bad, but I have no choice haha

Definitely true but I found Newcastle accommodation > Glasgow accommodation. I wouldn't say it's the best, but it's definitely the best of a bad situation. Have you firmed Glasgow?

Yep, but I'm kinda stuck on whether I should do Murano or Student Apartments. Parties are not allowed at student apartments, so I'm leaning towards Murano- purely from a social aspect, despite Student Apartments being 2 minutes from campus.

Yes mate, I'm from Newcastle anyway so I know what the night life is like but moving out is better for me financially. Is night life an important aspect for you?

Tbh, not really. I'm not a crazy party person anyway...
You'd be an idiot to go for anything other than murano
You guys are kidding right?
Murano used to be so much worse than it is now (it's been done up a hell of a lot) and qm halls are really fancy.
They're only a 10 minute walk for anyone who's in reasonable shape
You have unrealistic expectations from what student halls are if you think they're sub par.
Qm halls are even en suite.
Hi guys,
Hoping I can help out a bit here…
If you are still looking for student accommodation this Sept, Dunaskin Mill has a selection of fantastic rooms still available!
We’re a brand new building, so you’ll be the first person to live here. All the rooms have lots of space with small double beds and stylish décor, plus large showers just for you. There are 4 awesome social spaces including a gym for all students to enjoy and socialise within. So you’ve always got somewhere to meet up, mingle or get your head down to study.
You’ll be please to know, we have around 10 medical students already living with us including 1st years. If possible, we can match you to a flat with medical students within it or in the same block.
Please email me at [email protected] and I can give you more information.
Thanks,
Layla
