Passing and failing and module

If you pass the coursework to a module with 60% does that mean you would need 20% in the exam to pass the module?

Are they both of equal weighting? and do they allow for a failed component in a module?

Im not actually sure. What would be the normal thing. does it vary on every course?

Normally you need 40% in each component, some unis have a marginal fail allowance so say you got 35% but your average was over 40% they might let you pass. It's unlikely that they'd give you a pass with just 20% in a component i think.
