I said maybe she should be. I can't force anyone not to have sex. Get off your high horse.
Tbh I posted that link so long ago that I've forgotten what it is and I can't seem to open it.

Get off my high horse? One of us is sitting on one and it's not me.

It's the deluded fool who would ignore facts and figures just to hypocritically make other people to agree with you. Of course you can't force anyone, but you are trying to convince people to stay off sex, using lies and scary exceptional cases.
Original post by sherlockfan
That's ridiculous. Many of the 'facts' you posted aren't proven, they're just vague correlations. There are many other variables that come with good health and sex isn't one of them. I'm not going to develop heart disease or have high blood pressure for choosing to be celibate.
Your analogy doesn't even make sense. There's a difference between choosing not to have sex and not seeking medical help.

You're hopeless. You can go and read the medical journals yourself but you're so resolute to believe that you are correct you simply cannot accept simple facts.

The truth is there are medical benefits, both psychological and physical ones, to having sex and there's none to staying celibate.

And this will be my response to you every time you quote me from here on.

You're the one using lies to promote sex as the cure to everything. You won't find a medical journal or report in the entire world that says that having sex definitely prevents heart disease or makes someone live longer. There's just too many variables and no one can claim a definite cause and effect, not even you. You're just misinterpreting what you read or you're twisting the facts deliberately.
That's what I'm going to say to you every time you respond to me from now on.

(You are misinterpreting what I said. I never said what you claim I did.)

No there aren't. You're misinterpreting the facts or deliberately twisting them. I was a psychology student for a while so I know how to read scientific reports and figure out which ones are valid and reliable and which ones are not. There is no cause and effect.

I graduated from Oxford with a postgraduate degree. I guess you've lost in the qualifications department. You are the one who's misinterpreting what I said and twisted them. Never said you would develop a heart disease if you don't have sex. Perhaps you can't read.

Graduate in what? Sex?
Even the links you sent me say that the proof isn't conclusive, and that celibacy is no barrier to good health. Perhaps you can't read.
It can feel good. There are no proven benefits to sex beyond that.

The truth is there are medical benefits, both psychological and physical ones, to having sex and there's none to staying celibate. I have never ever said you must have sex to stay healthy, but only that there are medical benefits to having sex.

I'll add the bolded part to my response because you seem too thick to get this.

There aren't though. You seem unable to grasp the basic concept of conclusive scientific proof. You have pretty poor reasoning skills for an Oxford graduate.

Nothing outside of the field of mathematics can be truly proven in the sciences. You seem to have absolutely no knowledge in the sciences even for a secondary school graduate. You said there were 'no known benefits' which is factually, categorically untrue - in fact, ever if a decade from now we've found that there's absolutely no medical benefits to sex, you would still be wrong, because these benefits are currently, very clearly, known.

Actually that's wrong. I will say this once and for all and then I won't answer to you again. A lot of things are proven in the sciences but the benefits of sex isn't one of them. There isn't any scientific proof that there are medical benefits to sex. It isn't a truth if it can't be proven conclusively, so you need to stop saying it. I don't care how impressive you think your qualifications are, you're wrong.

You're addicted to something that makes you a lot happier than sex? Okay I got it. People always prefer the best. I myself found jahna( or meditative states of deep inner peace that go beyond the planes of ordinary human experience. Jhāna is often translated as absorption) is much better than sex...more peaceful..more beautiful and more rapturous. I'm now addicted to meditating :-)

good for you. you look content in that picture.
Nothing is wrong with celibacy. More people than you think are in celibacy. You do not need to have sex to satisfy yourself sexually (porn )
Some people are perfectly happy without having sex daily or at all and some perfectly happy having sex daily. Just cuz someone is not having sex as much as you doesn't mean they're unhappy with their life or their relationships they're in.

By the way, no person has died from not having sex. Just sayin. Maybe she in celibacy to prevent herself from having sex with the wrong guys.

exactly. and there's no so called 'benefit' from having sex that you can't gain by exercising.

I do not know the benefits of having sex but i do know that people can satisfy their sexual desires without having actual having sex, lol. I'm sure most people do but act like sex is everything, and act like they have access to sex all the time.

Yup and its a lot less risky. But people will insist on preaching how good sex is to other people who might not want to know about their sex lives.

While I of course don't see sex anywhere near the basic needs of food, water and air.

A healthy sex life has been linked to longer life span. Also those who are celibate have higher incidences of anxiety and depression.

Do you have any proof of that?
