If your doing AQA GCSE science you need 360 UMS to get an A*

If you divide that by 4 you need 90 UMS in each of your exams to get an A* (Bio, Chem, Physics and ISA)

So basically you pretty much need to do well in your ISA to get an overall A* say you get an A which around 80 UMS you'd need to get full UMS in one of your exams to get an A*.

In core science my school ****ed me over. I got 90+ ums in all my exams and the ISA was dropped to 82 UMS (due to improper marking) and I didn't get the A* (was 1 ums away which is less then a mark :frown:)

Pretty much try your hardest in your ISA's it's pretty much a life saver. You could get all B's in your exams and an A* in your ISA and still end up with an A.
