George Osborne gives his support to Hillary Clinton.

The progressive neo-liberal gives his support to the progressive neo-liberal. If anyone really understood politics they'd realise it makes perfect sense. The establishment sticks together.

Asked where he stood if it comes down to Donald Trump vs Hillary Clinton on ITV's Peston on Sunday , the UK chancellor said: "We look forward to working with whoever the next president is, whoever she may be, how about that?"

The Establishment endorsing the Establishment. Why are you surprised?
A pro-corporist supporting a pro-corporist neocon, no surprise here

Cant wait to see the look on his face when he discovers that he is not the next Tory leader. I detest Osborne.

They both have the same stance on bombing the Muhammad out of countries and leaders we don't like. Bloodthirsty warmongers. Birds of a feather. Bringing freedom, capitalism and democracy to foreign lands. And people wonder what Choudry's protests are about. Tut tut.

errr, but he's not endorsed by corporations vis-a-vis his presidential campaign, so he won't have to pander to the corporations while in office
errr, but he's not being paid $150,000 each time for a speech to a big corporation

The thing is, he doesn't need to be paid to support the corporate agenda in the US, he's already completely committed to it in every way.

A good example is federal minimum wage, which he now says he will abolish. This is presumably to bring the wages of the already poor down to the very low levels he pays to the migrant workers who clean his hotels, who are amongst the worst paid in America.

clinton will be clearly a clientalist corporatist, whereas trump will be...serving himself? how? how is being in office going to make him richer? why didn't he run for president decades ago?

federal minimum wage is corporate protection, whether it helps the poor or not -it filters out small businesses from full competition with the big corporations because the bigger businesses aren't encumbered by having to pay minimum wages, whereas the smaller/younger businesses are. don't equate socialism with being against corporatism. often they can be the exact same thing. trade unions, for example, are *massively* corporatist. they favour legislation that protects them from international competition, or gives them a wage that is too high, etc.
