I didn't have a lunchbreak, is that/this illegal?

Today, I started my work experience. I went to Pets at home.
I'm there from 10 to 3.
I was told that I would be working 5 hours straight.
Is that legal?

When i went to other work placements I had a lunch.
My father said that it's not right what I was told.

I understand why i was told that because I'm not there long.

I don't want to complain in case I cause an issue.

I don't know if I should bring lunch in tomorrow or for the rest of the week.

How old are you? If you are 18 it's perfectly legal, 16-18 and you should have a half hour break if you worked over 4.5 hours.
I think you have to work 6 hours before they are required to give you a break. I would definitely take in some food.

Edit: If you're 18+

If you are over 18 you are not entitled to a break unless you work more than 6 hours. As your shift is only 5 hours you won't get a break. Eat a big breakfast and then maybe take some food for you to eat as soon as you have finished work.

It's 6 hours when you're entitled to one. My old job used to schedule 5hr 45min shifts for this reason.

Yeah you aren't entitled to a break. I work 6 hours without a break in my job I make sure I get a decent brew and breakfast before I leave in the morning .
