Okay so how do you analyse? Like what should the point sound like and what does the analysis have to include I do of mice and men and an inspector calls and I can never seem to get a C because I "explain not analyse" quoted by my teacher so can someone explain to me how I'm supposed to analyse and what things in supposed to include because none of my teachers are useful 😅 Thanks

Always use PEE(L) Make your Point Find an Example Explain your point and example Link it to another point in your work
when analysing, consider context and characters, how they contrast each other, think about the effects of society or recent events on the characters and how that is shown in the writing. Definitely connect themes of the stories and draw information from that
For example An inspector calls Theme : Age/Youth
The play draws out a significant contrast between the older and younger generations of the Birling family. Arthur and Sybil refuse to accept responsibility anything regarding Eva Smith (Arthur is very concerned for his reputation and his potential knighthood). Whereas Eric and Sheila are shaken by the Inspector’s message and their role in Eva Smith’s life and death. The younger generation appears to take more responsibility, perhaps because they are more emotional and idealistic, but perhaps because Priestley is suggesting a more communally responsible socialist future for Britain. Eric and Sheila may feel that Eva is more relatable as they are of a similar age, Arthur and Sybil may feel more disconnected as they are older and perhaps look down on the younger generation.
(I only did an inspector calls, I wont be much help with Of mice and men, sorry)
