I think there's a high chance that Brexit will come up considering the EU referendum is also on the same day as the exam

Btw, does anyone know if in the essays, real world examples can be used as substitutes for quoting the extract in terms of getting application marks?

They certainly count in terms of AO2 application, but remember you still need to make some reference to the extracts to get over 21/25.
