There's so much to learn for History and since I have so many other exams I probably wont be able to revise all of the content, so what are the key things to focus on?

The thing is they can ask soooo many things.
I suggest:
Learn 3 key features from the Potsdam, Teheran and Yalta conferences

Know the Truman Doctrine & Marshall Plan (these can come up as 10 markers)
Know the basis of Comecon & cominform (they're really short & not hard to learn)

Know the Berlin blockade events and consequences

The Hungarian crisis (can be a 6 marker)

The Berlin Wall - why it was constructed & the meetings that took place beforehand

The Cuban missile crisis - why and the consequences

Prague Spring may come up so just know a few reforms and the Brezhnev doctrine

These can come up in 13 markers:
The SALT 1 & SALT 11 treaties
The invasion of Afghanistan (for 13 markers they'll ask how that changed relations - so learn why it made it worse and learn the Carter doctrine)
The SDI Plan
Gorbachev's reforms
INF treaty & start 1

Basically try to learn as much as you can about what actually happened in the events. Don't concentrate on dates if you don't know them already - concentrate on things like key features, effects and consequences. Do as much as you can, for a lot of questions they give you options on which event you wanna write about. And exam technique is super important, so even if your knowledge isn't great but your explanation is then you can gain a few marks xx

How to revise:
I made flash cards with dates and events on them. Then I wrote about the actual event, causes and consequences. Many of the questions that come up are about that. I also did key features for things like the conferences as those are pretty common.
You should also practice questions under exam Time if you have a time management issue.

As for what to revise, literally everything can come up. If you won't do all of it then try to focus on the big events like the Berlin Wall, blockade, Hungarian crisis, soviet invasion of Afghanistan, etc.

Also make sure you know exam technique

GCSE2016Troop

Hello, I'm doing Cold War, Germany and Britain and would love your help. Our first exam is the first day after the week off I believe and I havn't revised for any of the units yet as I have been priorising my other subjects. I am hoping for an A* too and have been getting high A's in the mocks. I feel like I know all or atleast the majority of the content however I should probably look back over them. How do you think I should revise for them now with the time I have left?

in my mock i got a high B but i was let down cause i didnt know my timeline, now that i do, im confident i can get an A but i want an overall A*

Guys here's some tips for exam technique:

6 markers:
Write 3 simple statements and develop them all. For example:
Describe the key features of the Teheran conference (6)
Answer:
One key feature is that a second front was decided to be opened. This was to be done in order to split German defences and take pressure off the USSR.
Another key feature is that Poland would be given some land from Germany. However, while it would gain land, it would also lose some to the USSR.
A final key feature is that Churchill wanted to begin an invasion of the Balkans. He wanted this to be done in order to help the war effort and stop Soviet advance in Europe, however, this wasn't possible as Stalin and Roosevelt opposed the idea.

That's guaranteed 6 marks

Don't worry, I haven't done Germany or Britain yet either. I suggest making flash cards they're honestly super convinient and you can carry them around or read them before bed. If you don't have much time then focus on important events or events that you don't know much about so that way you'll at least know some stuff for the exam. Also I suggest doing timed questions or just watching videos about the events, which are interesting. Hope I helped x
