Yes, add Xhaka and Kante without signing a rw.
That way we'll only have Ramsey Wilshere Cazorla Neny Xhaka Kante Wilshere Coquelin to play in 2 positions....

You can put wilshere or Ramsey on the right wing in lieu of signing a de facto right winger, if you solidly the central midfield.

Plus you know El Neny, has anyone noticed he doesn't actually contribute much. He's just another box to box midfielder, he's just Ramsey lite. He doesn't add another dimension to us. He's not a defensive midfielder, he's not a deep lying playing maker, he's not a creative midfielder. He's really quite simple. He's certainly not commanding a starting position.

How on earth is playing 2 defensive minded centre mids with a cm played out of position a better scenario than the current one?

one is a deep lying playmaker and one is a box to box, with a creative player on the wing.

that is more creative than a defensive midfielder, and box to box (coq, ram) and walcott on the wing.

more creative than two box to boxes (neny ram)

its all about balance.

it would be nice to sign a RW but we wont, whereas the reports on Xhaka and Kante are strong.

So you have to readjust the balance.
Getting destroyed on the final day by an already relegated team with 10 men to be overtaken by their biggest rivals is the most Spurs thing ever
Congrats on finishing 2nd! Might not feel great in the short term with Leicester winning the league by a big margin but its your highest league finish since like 2005? Squad isn't terrible and 2 or 3 quality additions would be all the difference (see Sanchez, Ozil and Cech quality).

In terms of priorities..

ST
CB
RW
CDM

But I would be happy if we got Xhaka, a good striker, and a RW or a CB

Not winning the league with Coquelin as your defensive mid

not winning the league next season.

Pep at City.

Klopp's first summer window.

Leicester.

Utd if they sack LVG

I said in terms of priorities - we definitely aren't winning it with Giroud as our striker. We definitely aren't winning it being so shaky at the back. If we have a solid defence and a clinical striker, we can win it with Coq/Elneny playing alongside Ramsey/Santi.

Not really sure how you can say Xhaka Kante with Wilsh on wing is in any way superior to Coq Caz with Ramsey on wing, especially considering the former have never played a game together where as the latter have 18 months experience playing together...

To be fair that Man City squad looks shocking at the moment and even with a huge cheque, Pep isn't going to be able to fix it overnight or in one preseason/summer window. Every club will look to play counter/route one/aggressive football against Pep next season. It won't be an easy introduction imo..

Liverpool don't have enough star players to challenge yet imo. Who do you even class as world class in our squad?

Leicester perhaps as defending champions if they don't lose any of their star players but look at Chelsea after winning the title..

Man Utd again have a poor squad. It's not clear if they have a manager lined up or if they are still winging it/going to keep LVG..

Spurs probably are your closest contender.

Because with Xhaka Kante, you have 2 players who should be playing balls forward, with Wilshere being a creative winger.

and with coq caz you only have 1 player playing the ball forward, and Ramsey has never played effectively as a creative winger. He just plays like a box to box mid on the wing.

FFS. Rosicky gets a guard of honour? Why? Ten years and 170 PL appearances. What's he won? One FA Cup final he played 14 minutes in, and one which he wasn't even in the squad. He's the embodiment of a stale Arsenal era, which just isn't good enough.

ffs mackay take it back, you were a good lad before you said this.

When ar95 appears. Tell him cheers for the winnings. Knew when he said we wouldn't finish second that we actually would.

Win win for me too tbh
Small team mentality, we are Arsenal one of the biggest teams in the world!

Big teams are ruthless. You need a player in a position you get him at all cost. Arsenal don't do this. They sit back and wait and frown when the player goes elsewhere. It's got to the point where fans have lost all optimism and settle for mediocrity. Well if we can just get a decent striker and a midfielder then that will do. Do Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich do this? Should they not be our competition rather than Spurs? We make just as much money charge just as much have just as big a fan base have just as big a stadium. Why should we settle for the rubbish Arsene gives us year in year out. Would Giroud be leading the line in Real Madrid? Would he not have been shipped off years ago or at best be a bench warmer, why is he suddenly good enough for us then! We need to aim higher. Ozil and Sanchez are great players but they are not bigger than our club, they are simply the quality of players whom we should be signing. They shouldn't be the exception but the norm. If they leave we should be signing people even better than them because that's what big teams do.

On a serious note, Wenger in or out?

You finished 2nd and although that's a great achievement in itself, you were way off the champions and you weren't good at all in other competitions.

Do you really see yourselves being able to build on this 2nd place when you have Mourinho, Conte and Pep coming in, all along with Klopp who will have good money to spend?

Out still.

Being the best smelling ****, in a bucket of ****, is not an achievement.

All the big clubs failed this season, and so far:

Chelsea - manager change
City - manager change
Liverpool - manager change
United - Very likely manager change

Only wenger remains..

I can completly understand why the club wont get rid of him, its such a huge risk. I mean at the moment we are in a constant position that so many clubs would kill for.. each year, no matter what happens, who rises and who falls,we remain exactly the same.

With a new boss maybe we can actually win something, but more likely it would mean we would enter the raft of other top clubs currently going up and down season by season, with new managers coming in, and going, success then failure etc.

I personally would still do it though, just because although the huge risk of failure is there - as an arsenal fan, it would just be nice to have some genuine hope for a season. An actual chance to win
