I said about -domestic division on labour- funct, March of progress and feminism
- impact of women working- lagged adaption, commercialisation of housework, dual burden and same sex couples
- resources and decision making such as Pahl and voglers types of control
- domestic violence
Not sure any of that is right though!! What did you write?

Yeah! I also wrote those but someone said thy tried to trick us into the gender area in that Q? Which I don't get

I don't think that's true it seemed like a pretty clear question they were asking. What does that even mean? The answer says about gender roles basically?

What did you do for the second 24 marker? Come to think of it I've defo made a mess of that essay

Hi those who did the old spec if you remember could you please tell me what came up as I'm doing the new spec and I highly doubt they'll give us the same families and households question!

Guy's what were the actual responses for the 10 marker???, because I think I wrote something totally different

I wrote about banding streaming and setting? Then restricted and elaborated code? Because it said FUNCTION so surely thats how the education system works/functions?

1. Compensatory Education Q - Gov Intervention to help materially deprived homes from underachievement by providing extra support. Often found in working class families.

2. Marketisation Q - I talked about parentocracy and how it gives parents more control through league tables etc.

3. 6 marker - I used Rise In Feminism (laws to support equality), Changing Family patters (less divorce stigma) and intro to GCSE and Coursework

4. 10 marker - I talked about Setting + Streaming and Role Allocation//Social Hierachy for the future workforce

5. 20 marker(needed to be focused on parents and family control) Cultural Deprivation - Parents level of interest, experience, speech patterns ALSO material deprivation with the amount of income they get. And then briefly talked about internal factors such as subcultures and labelling/SFP.

Does anyone know what you need to get a C or a B overall on the education paper?

I didn't like the 10 marker.I had to sit for a while to come up with something plausible because the question was so vague. I ended up writing about the Marxists perspective on education and the two roles it performs :/

Yeah functionalist and Marxists talked about the functions of education so is certainly correct

What was question 2 again?

I can't remember I just remember Marketisation
Hey!

I am resitting SCLY 1,2,3 AND 4!

I just did the families and household today - how did everyone find it? My mind went blank when thinking of theorists, but managed to get all the perspectives in.
Completely forgot what the 2 mark question was... embarrassing!

Anyone got any predicts for the SCLY 2 education old spec?
I have countless notes and done a lot of the examination papers ^.^

1) idea of positive discimination in favour of culturally deprived children e.g. EMA, Bursayry etc
2) i talked about culture capital and how marketisation has led to low achievement among the w/c because of socialisation etc and they more likely to pick people who are seen as 'ideal pupil' etc :s

3) GIST, WISE, NATIONAL CURRICULUM (boys and girls sudy same), Triparte system (education fr all).

4) for the 10 marker i talked about social solidarity and marxists view of ideological state apparatus and legitimising class inequality

5) home factors: cultural deprivation, socialisation and material dep
inside school: labelling, marketisation

6) messed up methods in context

what do u think grade boundaries will be, how much for an A out of 60
and can someone check my answers
also did i have to evaluate for 10 marks!?
On the 6 marker was it okay todo policies like
Equal pay act
Education reform act
Sex discrimination act?
I don't know now is that wrong ?

That 2 marker and 10 marker will probably be the death of me :/ I think I did okay on the 10 marker though. The 20 marker on education was so good!!
