How it was done and why it wasn't accepted

ahhh, okay thanx that was really helpful:biggrin:
could someone tell me how cracking works because all I've got down as notes is that a long hydrocarbon chain is soaked in a piece of wool it is then heated this heat then passes along a tube and at the other end where the vapour reaches it will be a short chain hydrocarbon

Could be anything from Metal alloys and their uses to the reactivity series.

so here's the process of fractional distillation:
- the crude oil is heated and vaporised
- it is fed into the fractionating column
- the gases rise and cool
- the gases condense when they reach their boiling points
- and are collected as liquids at different levels
- they are collected at different fractions as they all have different boiling points
- small chain hydrocarbons collected at top (where it is cool)
- long chain hydrocarbons collected at bottom (hotter)

Thank you soooo much! Good luck!

Smart polymers are polymers that change due to the change in the environment, eg. Stitches, they tighten due to the temperature of your skin/body applying the right amount of force, then when the wound is healed they safely dissolve so you don't need to go back to the doctors to have them removed
What would a metal QWC be about? And whaTs the limestone cycle again, recap please?

Calcium carbonate (Limestone) CaCO3 -> Calcium oxide (quick lime) CaO + carbon dioxide CO2

Calcium oxide CaO + water H2O -> calcium hydroxide (alkali) Ca(OH)2

Calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 + water H2O-> calcium hydroxide solution (limewater) Ca(OH)2

Limewater Ca(OH)2 + carbon dioxide CO2 -> calcium carbonate CaCO3 + water H2O

Sorry the format is bad. It was sent from my phone
