I was worried about not be able to fit it all into one line.

I wasn't able to fit the last element in one line... I know this sounds stupid but will I loose the marks ?

For the MP 20 did anyone choose lithium ions, since the water turning cloudy suggests a reaction occured. The only element which can displace potassium carbonate is lithium.

Yes me here. That's why I put lithium down.

Yeah, you just cancel them out...

Does anyone know what they put for the balancing the equation ?

There was 4 and a 2 for me.

The SQA are ruthless when it comes to the space they give us to write our answers down. Trying to save as much paper as possible.

I don't know is the answer

YOU ARE JOKING.

Oh if I lose marks because of that .....

I dunno, but I remember my teacher saying its correct to do it all in one line.
Also, when drawing out full structural formula you need to draw the bond to the first letter of a compound. So for that monomer question, the line would have to be pointing towards the C in COOCH3.

I had difficulty as well, I was forced to write very small from the very start of the page, just got it to fit in

Hopefully not

Man they are way too picky ....
Did anyone else write all over the data book. I dunno if they reuse them

Nah they probably don't

did you any of you get a headache trying to answer the balancing question. Had to come back to it at the end and got 3 on the left side and a 3 on the right. I can't remember on which compounds tho

I just got 3 on the left side

I highly doubt you will loose a mark for that but it depends on the marker you get....
you had to put a 3 in front of h20
Oh I am so nervous now.... The right answer but just because I used a new line....

It was like this for example.

Br2 + SO3 +H20 ------> 2Br + SO4
****************************** + 2H

I made sure the +2H was on the right side of the arrow ...

that could be right actually since its on the right side

I wrote a 3 on the nh4 because on the right side there was 12 nh4

I wrote a 3 on the nh4 as well to make it 12.

That would mean that there were 16 Hydrogens on the left if I remember correctly and 12 on the right so I just stuck a 2 infront of H2O

The balancing one was terrible this year
I thought it was just 3 then it would be balanced but I'm not sure :/
Oh btw there was a question about the oxygen being in a ring or something.
I drew this for it:

It was one of those two that I drew.

Can't mind something to do with oxygen in a ring.

It was towards the end
