I need help with a maths question

You could start with multiplying everything by the power, that's what you normally do for indices

Okay, so (ab)1=ba\left(\frac{a}{b}\right)^{-1} = \frac{b}{a}.

So: (64x625y2)1/2=(25y264x6)1/2=25y264x6=25y264x6=25y264x6=\displaystyle \left(\frac{64x^6}{25y^2}\right)^{-1/2} = \left(\frac{25y^2}{64x^6}\right)^{1/2}= \sqrt{\frac{25y^2}{64x^6}} = \frac{\sqrt{25y^2}}{\sqrt{64x^6}} = \frac{\sqrt{25}\sqrt{y^2}}{\sqrt{64}\sqrt{x^6}} = \cdots
