OCR MEI FP1 Thread - AM 20th May 2016

Correct. You don't get marks for 'sheaf' though as it's an outdated term, usually you need to say 'pages of a book' but that's only 4 marks so don't worry
was question 9 about the complex roots?

This is the the ocr MEI thread, I think you may have done just ocr
For the inverse of B was it 1/25(A)

can someone make an unofficial mark scheme?
The answers I remember:

Determinant was 14 when p=3. Therefore area of transformed triangle was 168.

Lambda = 3
Mew=25
B^-1 = A/25

A=6
B=51

P=3/2

alpha = 1/2
beta = -2

Sum converges to 2/3

Last sum is 0.008 something to 3 significant figures

same lol. shouldn't det(M) be 14???

but for the second part , the wording confused me so i ended up putting the area as 12. People said the area was 168 but they are probably right tbh lol

Think question 7 was about the roots, what did you get for alpha x beta?
If a dog **** on my exam paper and I handed it in, I still would've got a better mark than i did in that paper.

the other of questions on the last page was;
the complex numbers one, the graoh sketching and then the summations one (method of differences) :smile: (I can't remember the numbers of questions)

i got the same on all except the determinant that I got was 14, and I did the mei fp1 exam
