because the radius is less than 5, and the centre is (5,4) the circle won't extend as far as the y-axis. Think about the sketch of the circle if that helps

You must be talking about the IAL paper which is C12 (a combination of Core 1 and 2) as C2 hasn't been sat in January for a while (2013).

Here's a link to the paper I mean:
https://c4a3f001dcd45afe69d0ceec83003f9fbc283b2c.googledrive.com/host/0B1ZiqBksUHNYSGtmV3dzVVVvNTg/January%202015%20(IAL)%20QP%20-%20C12%20Edexcel.pdf

And the mark scheme:

It'll be of limited use though as you'll have to sift through and select the C2 questions, probably more hassle than reward
Can someone explain to me why when doing a sin graph e.g y= sin(2x-30) you would first do f(2x)=sin(2x) then g(x)= sin(2x) so g(x)= sin[2(x-15)] rather than just doing 1/2 the points then adding 15?

Actually not true, the C2 exam requires you to know all the things in C1 so you could be examined on a mixture and by he way things are going so far I don't see why not

Yeah it's not on there
Seems like people might be running out of things to do in C2.

Here's a problem:

Prove that the area of a triangle of lengths a, b, c and adjacent angles A, B and C is given by 12absin(C)\frac{1}{2}absin(C)

Hence by considering the area of a triangle of lengths a, b, c and adjacent angles A, B and C prove the Law of Sines asin(A)=bsin(B)=csin(C)\displaystyle \frac{a}{sin(A)} = \frac{b}{sin(B)} = \frac{c}{sin(C)}

What do you reckon might come up this year? By looking at last year's paper...

A) Binomial series - I predict that the estimation of a value might come up this year, as it is not always tested.
B) Coordinate geometry - I think they are going to put a ridiculous question on that. What always comes up is ''equation of a circle'' and ''tangents''
C) Integration - I believe that the trapezium rule may come up this year, as it didn't come up last year. As always, a question that contains a lot of marks will be tested on differentiation and integration.
D) Sequences and series - Any worded questions? In C1 there was a worded question so it may come up this year as well?
E) Radians - I am expecting a hard question on this! And trig ratios is another topic that will probably contain a lot of marks in the exam.

Guys when I looked through I think I got a high B very close to an A... what marks do I need to get to get an overall A for Statistics and C2?

I assume you mean you got a high B in C1

In which case, assume you got 78 UMS

You'd need 240 overall which means you'd need 81 average in C2 and S1 for an overall A

What will 51 marks get me in the C1 paper do you guys reckon? 63 UMS marks, or 68-70?

for 2005-2013: The lowest mark for a B was 47

If what everyone is saying about difficulty is true (I doubt it) I suspect 51 marks will net you around 68-70 UMS

What will the worst case scenario be then? I was thinking about 63 UMS marks..

You're probably in the right ballpark tbh

Hope I'll get 70 UMS marks, that will make my life so much easier.. Thank you for your help.

Fancy having a go at my question?

Either everyone has chickened out or they haven't seen it yet
