Has anyone done the sample assessment paper?
If so, what are your feeling on it?

Can someone please explain the new specifications situation please. I study from home, I'm re-taking OCR AS and A level Physics. Is there major changes or what's going on?

What do you do when you're failing physics because teachers are idiots and your friends are too scared to group up and address the situation to the head of department because they think our teachers will lower our predicted grades....

Never rely on anyone, and it is not the teachers fault that you are failing Physics. It's all up to you, whether you want it or not, and how bad you want it. If you really wanted to succeed, you wouldn't give a dam about your teachers or students. Its all up to you to put in the effort, not the teachers, nobody, that is how life works. If you really want to succeed you need to trust yourself, that's how you can make it through life, which is not easy.
What I think you should do is, rely on yourself and get started on revising yourself asap. Remember never rely on people. If you need any help, let me know.
Take it step by step, exam by exam, topic by topic, question by question.

loool omg. so ur retaking.
I personally feel like the papers are going to be quite hard. My teachers are good and have gone through the newly released specimen papers today (which are very hard). Moments questions in the new spec are tricky so remember to go over those
Help with this electricity question?

I was working through some electricity exam questions and I am stuck on this question - looked through the mark scheme and still didn't understand. Part (a) is the worst but Part (b) doesn't really add up either.

Paper reference: Edexcel Physics (6PH02) - Physics at Work, June 2012, Question 11

Thanks.
Which of the following statements about the forces in a Newton’s Third Law pair is notcorrect?
The forces
A act along the same line.
B act on the same body.
C are equal in magnitude.
D are of the same type.

I still don't understand how the answer to this question can be C... i thought the forces were supposed to be equal and opposite?

EDIT: I looked on the edexcel notices and it was a mistake in the specimen paper

I'm doing OCR but this is how I would have approached it, look at the PDF. I hope it helps.

*I also attached an image of all of it, but you might not be able to see the small writing, so use PDF if needed.

About the sample assessment material for Physics, does anyone know if there are any video solutions for those new papers?
Or any other good revision sites for this new edexcel course?

Same! even my teachers hated it and we unable to answer some of the questions between them!

After looking at the mark scheme my teacher could generally work out what it's actually asking, but he said "It looks like the person who wrote the question and the person who wrote the answers have never met"

He says it shouldn't be that stupid for the real thing though as they actually check it over and over....
Does anybody else feel the same as me - I go through the revision books, makes notes etc. but then when it comes to the questions in the exam, THEY'RE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TO WHAT IS IN THE BOOKS. I really hope that specimen paper was purposely harder than the exam or something. Please can someone relate?! My entire class feels the same way
