Thanks a lot, don't know why my teacher didn't give it. Also, do you have the markscheme for it? And the second paper too, perhaps?

Thank you so much, I really needed those papers.
Can anyone help me on the physics spec 1 paper question 0 3 . 2

The MS says Path difference = 2 (d2 d1) = 2 (distance moved by movabletube)Distance moved by movable tube = 0.10 m.

I don't get why they divide the path difference AGAIN by 2.....???
Hope these exams are nicer than the specimen papers, haha.
Don't understand Q 1.2 on the first paper of the second set of specimen papers... mark scheme says "Total energy = 2keV + 2 × 511 keV = 1024 keV" but I have no idea where this comes from? Think I'm being stupid...

EDIT: Never mind, understand now.

Anyone else finding the second set of specimen papers really hard too? :frown:

I just did the first paper from the second set, I got 34 :,( Am I retarded or is this the case with everyone?

They are quite hard, especially compared to last years. Have you done the 2015 papers, I think they show what you're actually capable of

I've done them but I can barely see any similarities :frown:

It is stupidly hard... can't even figure out some of the answers from looking at the markscheme. Anyone understand 4.1? Looks like an easy question but I can't get my head around it.

Yea, I don't get where any of those numbers are coming from for question 4.1

I don't think the answer relates to the question - question is about a car but answer is about a rocket. I make answer to 4.1 :
Resultant force = ma =11000 x 2.9 = 31900N
Resultant force = thrust - air resistance so air resistance = 230000 - 31900
= 198100

Apologies, I forgot to mention that the mark scheme answers for 4.1 and 4.2 are incorrect (which shows how much effort really goes into these specimen papers :/).

Was it a part of the actual document or separate?
These papers are an absolute joke in my opinion. Just did Paper 1 on the second set of specimen papers and was lost throughout... The question about moments was impossible and also the one about working out time taken for p to fall. Just look at the mark scheme for those 2 questions it would be virtually impossible for me to even get a mark on those questions.
