A polytechnic is a university level college which specialises in vocational courses and offer 2 year HNDs which are equivalent to the first 2 years of a degree. Polytechnics were popular in the uk in the 70s 80s and 90s,but they have now been replaced by fe colleges with university centres.

Access courses enable mature students without a level 3 qualification to access higher education .Therefore these courses are a level equivalents. They may offer level 4 and above courses though which would mean the college would serve the same purpose as a poly.

Yeah, its just going to be a long wait until i get the 6 results back, as they come through this time next month. I'm 1% off of a 2:1 which is really annoying. but I am sure I have got several 2:1s this term.
i managed to surprise myself at being able to pass these assignments first time round

at my uni there is a 2% grace margin. so i can actually get 58%, and as long as three of my final units are 2.1 and above, i still get it. I thought that this was standard practice?

There kind of is, as mine dont allow .5% in our final grades, so they round up. but it wont be long until i get my final grade for this year
How hard is it to get a first in accounting and finance?
Which uni? I study accounting and finance and have had first class grades consistently since first year (just finished third year, away to start my fourth in September) and I haven't found it too taxing. Some things are complex and stressful, but I do less work than my friends and get better grades. Study smart, not for a long period of time.
