But, yeah I kinda relate - it's similar in the computer science field, and I'm either type 1 or 2 depending on the day.

So they go to see a .. Careers adviser ? I mean this person who is supposed to help you find the right course for you.

Careers adviser probably fits, but counsellor would also have been right, though it's spelled with an S in the middle instead of a C.

Yeah, but I was going by this definition: 'a person trained to give guidance on personal, social, or psychological problems.' But you're right, careers adviser is probably better.

A very interesting post (as always ) - its so sad that so many students fail med im first year :/ but then its great that they decide to have another go later on - i admire that sort of dedication
