Does it matter where you get an English Lit degree from?

I understand law and medicine can be competitive but does it matter where you get an English degree from?

That depends on what you're hoping to use your degree for.

English lit degrees vary hugely in content - so an english degree from one university might include compulsory modules that you hate and no optional modules on your favourite topics while another degree will closely match your interests and strengths. You're much more likely to do well (and not drop out) of a course that you're interested in.

Nope, a degree from Coventry or Nottingham Trent is definitely equal to (or better than) a degree from Durham or Exeter.
