your points sound so good! I did supernatural but I brought spider into mine too hopefully that's okay haha

I'm sure it will be; I brought the supernatural into my one on Spider! What points did you make? c:

Hi ya, the question stated that you could either talk about one or more characters. As long as if you showed close language analysis that linked to the question, then you should be fine. As well as linking the extract, I also integrated quotes to represent how they linked to society, and how Steinbeck demonstrates this throughout the novella. Don't be concerned, you'll be fine. The grade boundaries will hopefully be generous.

Thank you so much x

Do you have any predictions for certain characters/themes?

Hiya,

I was wondering if you have access to the AQA June 2012 English literature unit 2 exam? The 2016 range are usually based on the 2012 exams so I was wondering if you have seen it?

My controlled assessment was the poetry one and it was 40 marks

I meant how much marks is it worth towards my whole English lit grade if that makes sense

It is along the lines of how does Steinbeck present dreams to the readers and how the society at the time makes it hard for people to get the dream.

could i have written of george and lennies dream or was it to to do with other characters dream!! ahh i messed up

I wrote about crooks dream and then George and lennies together. Will it matter?

I think I ****ed up and I don't know if it's me being overly critical or if it's the truth! Got a solid B for sure, not sure I managed to get the A/A* I wanted! I'm so pissed at myself!

I feel the exact same! I've been desperate for an A/A* all year but with the pressure and timings of the exam I wasn't able to put enough thought and depth into my writing😭 tbh I would be so devastated with a B

It said one or two characters.
I did an inspector calls (conflict) and wrote about the impending war briefly, then went on to talk about Eric & Birling's tenuous relationship due to how Eric was never the son Birling wanted, and how Gerald was everything that Birling had hoped Eric to be in the sense that Gerald is a younger parallel to Birling with his capitalistic views and business driven attitude. I then said how Eric's stealing furtherd the rift in their relationship.
Then I went on to talk about the conflict between the classes, using Eva Smith's protest for higher wages as an example, and touching on how the higher classes are driven by greed rather than the lower classes who are simply trying to stay alive. Then I summed it up with how the whole play is a social commentary on the war between capitalistic and socialistic views and how Goole is a tool used to represent the socialistic side and Birling represents the capitalistic side.

I absolutely hated this question and probably just spent most of the time staring at the paper rather than writing. I get 25% extra time and still wrote less than everyone else 😂😂
Opinions on the points I made? Good/bad?
Hoping the boundaries are low because if not I'm screwed 😬

I think this are really good and like the one about Eric and Mr Birling ! Do u mind checking mine?
I said that Mr Birling and the Inspector are presented as complete opposites so the contrasts present an inevitable conflict. Then I went on to say about the opposing political views and how the final speech highlights the wrongs in Mr Birlings speech. Afterwards I spoke about the difference in setting with everyone at the table and then their separation at the end of the final speech which shows how the inspector has unearthed a conflict in the family, directly followed by the squabbling. Finally I spoke about sheila and Eric how they are described as half shy half assertive half serious half playful in the stage direction which suggests that they are facing internal conflicts battling with the stereotypes their traditionalist family expects them to fit under and their new young generation shown by the word squiffy. So I linked that to old and young:ahee:. Please can you tell me what you think as a lot of people have different ones to me thank you:biggrin:

I think so but I also memorised quotes about dreams from other characters and linked it to my paragraph.

There are some conflict poetry revision videos on youtube. I think the person who did it goes by 'J Brierly' or something like that. He's analysed all the poems
