Wow. No way. I got 35/40. What do I need to get in the exams to get an A* overall ? I usually get A and sometimes A*s for the texts and for poetry I've consistently gotten A*s.

I think I generally get high As in the exams, but once I flunked unseen poetry and only got a B (one mark of an A) overall on the poetry exam. I think if you get what you usually get with such a high coursework mark you'll do great!
Does anyone have any predictions for Relationships poetry? I'm dying for Brothers to come up as I feel I didn't do as well as I'd have liked to do on the Monday exam.
Will I lose marks for referring to the wider novel (outside the passage) in my part a OMaM answer?

In part B? Definitely not, you have to relate to the rest of the novel as part of the question. In part A you won't lose marks either, my teacher said if you can sneak in context/the rest of the story then you should.

It's so bad i was scribbling it down and i honestly think i only made one valid point! I said that Lennie cannot understand that the idea of the dream is unattinable and if George really believes that he wouldn't go into town into the whorehouses.

I also said that George was the main perpetrator (is that the right word?) of the story yet lennie is the main believer. What did you write?

Parts A and B are marked as one, so as long as you've got enough analysis from the passage, you'll be fine!

i said that theyre dream is very miniscule and that society at the time was so harsh because they were so close to attaining it yet it was snatched away! idk if its right!! creds to Mr Bruff haha

I did an inspector calls (conflict) and wrote about the impending war briefly, then went on to talk about Eric & Birling's tenuous relationship due to how Eric was never the son Birling wanted, and how Gerald was everything that Birling had hoped Eric to be in the sense that Gerald is a younger parallel to Birling with his capitalistic views and business driven attitude. I then said how Eric's stealing furtherd the rift in their relationship.
Then I went on to talk about the conflict between the classes, using Eva Smith's protest for higher wages as an example, and touching on how the higher classes are driven by greed rather than the lower classes who are simply trying to stay alive. Then I summed it up with how the whole play is a social commentary on the war between capitalistic and socialistic views and how Goole is a tool used to represent the socialistic side and Birling represents the capitalistic side.

I absolutely hated this question and probably just spent most of the time staring at the paper rather than writing. I get 25% extra time and still wrote less than everyone else 😂😂
Opinions on the points I made? Good/bad?
Hoping the boundaries are low because if not I'm screwed 😬

They're really good!! I wrote some nonsense about how the proletarian classes were oppressed whilst being viewed as a commodity and as a result it escalated tension between the two classes and ultimately created conflict lol

dw you're stressing for no reason! the examiner will know where your part b is because you would be talking about different things:smile:)
Hey ^^
Any ideas/predictions as to which poems may come up for the relationships section ?

Honestly I'm reading through all the poems like 10 times over, noting down any themes/general notes I've missed.
My prediction for this cluster is The Ruined Maid (almost definitely) and Medusa/Give, so I'm reading through all my notes thoroughly and trying to link them however I can... Do you have any suggestions on themes that I can link to other poems?
