OCR C2 June2009 Q9(iii) (a) Help!

please help me do this question. I can't seem the get the result the mark scheme sais. I differentiate 4 * k^x as (4/2x) *k^2x . I s that correct?

No.

Write kx=exlnkk^x = e^{x \ln k} and then differentiate that using the normal rules of differentiating exponentials, remember that kk is just a constant.
