I wrote cavity wall insulation then time ran out :/ didn't get to finish the last question as well
Original post by Taahira_
What did everyone write for the insulation question the one that asked whether the person should spend £55 or get the wall insulation

Get the wall insulation because they will save more money than 55 pounds
it was heating as he wanted to spend 55 the heating cost 35 to install and saved I think 200 each year so heating was right
sooooo easy
how much will it be for an A

unofficial biology section mark scheme-
not entirely sure all correct

1. Diabetes [ 7 ]
a} in the blood/blood stream
b) carbs increase sugar in blood - insulin injection helps to lower this level
c) stored in liver as insoluble glycogen
d) ff - no cystic fibrosis ff - none but is a carrier. Ff - has cystic fibrosis.

2. Alcohol [ 4 ]
a) 7 units
b) is a depressent - blocks receptors so neurotransmitters cant get through

3) immunity [6]
6marker polio. Inject with pathogen. Antibodies fight it / memory cells created. Active & passive immunity. Data anlysis (from graph)

4) neurone [5]
a) relay neurone / effector
b) cell body
c) damage to myelin sheath / insulating sheath - axon transmitting messages not protected - slows in pace of transmission & could not be delivered at all.

Im missing 3marks - should i do the oher 2 sections? If you disagree or remember other questions tell me

b is dendrites yess do other sections

b is dendrites yess do other sections

I swear dentrites are inly one tiny part that was in that section if the neaurone? In really not sure what the answer was
probably lost 16-17 marks in total

no dendrites are long branched endings everyone in my exam got that
u man r neek u wanna make some money holla me with CC
I thought the dendrites were on the other end of the neurone, this one was a cell body with dendrites branching out from it so I just wrote cell body
what was the chemistry 6 marker
Unofficial mark scheme - chemistry section

1) alkanes etc [5]
A) double bond
B) has an oxgen atom - not only hydrogen & carbon
C) c2h6o
D) think it was the drawing which was fairly simple.

2) carbon monoxide [3]
2c4h10 + 13o2 -> 10h2o + 8co2
B) carbon dioxide

3) crude oil [6]
A) finite = not infinite - will run out. Non-renewable = used up quicker than its being produced.
B) crack it into more useful ones like petrol to meet demands.
C) oil slicks created / damage ti beaches / co2 released / detergents create damage
D) lpg & diesel

4) coal or methane? [6]
Ads coal - cheaper / very available / solid (burning)
Disads coal - less energy released / lots of carbon dioxide made
Ads methane - available / lots of energy / not as much co2 made
Disads methane - more expensive / still makes co2 / gas (burning)
Overall - pick & justify

5) esters [5]
A) Insoluble to Water --- Can Not Be Washed Off Easily
Does Not React With Water - So It Does Not React With Perspiration
Does Not Irritate the Skin -- Perfume Can be applied directly onto you
B) evaporate - weak intermolecular forces / high energy / spread ouT
Any disagreements / you remeber what ive missed comment

3C) Talking about environment, not bird feathers
5A) Insoluble to Water --- Can Not Be Washed Off Easily
Does Not React With Water - So It Does Not React With Perspiration
I believe the other one was Does Not Irritate the Skin -- Perfume Can Be Sprayed Onto Body
Original post by Denka
For the neurons, was it relay and then response (I heard effector)?

Effector it is

Done - thank you
Please do P1 if you can !!
The microwaves one is wrong it was infrared but other than that is pretty much all right except instead of dendrites I put "it is the body of the cell with dentritic endings" just do cover myself lol
