the centre was (a,0)
so circles eq will be (x-a)^2+(y-0)^2=a^2 because a is the radius
and in the second part substitute x with 4 and y with -3 to get a
i got it like 3.125

It was definitely not easy, but it wasn't too hard either. I know many people at my school found it difficult so I'm sure the grade boundaries will be similar to the January 2016 grade boundaries, if not, lower. I guess the difficulty of the paper depends on how many past papers you've done, some people who found the exam very easy have done literally all the papers since 2007 lol

I did papers since 2005 this year was the hardest C12 IMO

Really? I found the June 2014 c12 paper a lot more challenging
Whew! I was skeptical of the divide by 2 in that first part. And I did +16 because I saw a similar question in Past Papers and just applied that logic here.

till what i could remember..not in the same order though!
1. p=1.5, q=63
2. a. 14.556, b. 7.278 , cant remember
3. a. x< or equal to 4.5
b. x> 1.5 or x< -5 X< -5 and 1.5<X<4.5
4. arithmetic440066
5. centre(x-a)^2 + y2= a^2A= 25/8
6. angle sin 19.5 and -30
7. geometric0.817539
8. grapha- (8/5,4/5) b- (20/9, 10/9)
9. log Y^2 = 32/Xx= 0.5y=8
10. Q(x)a= -10b= 13
11. sectorarea = 0.654
12. some angle question pi/12 and 5pi/12
13. integration 11/64

The only answers I can remember right now are 1,2,3,6,8,11 which are the same as yours.
EDIT:I also got the same for 12.

Oh yeah,I got √n=√50
And for the segment question,How did you guys attempt it? I created 2 equations for the 2 out of 4 segments and used substitutions.

1.

Hey can anybody go through the trig identities question, it was 1-2cos(theta-PI/5) = 0, PI<theta<PI then ii) was 4cos^2x + 7sinx-2=0 i think for 0<=x<=360

This was the hardest C12 paper till date for sure. 😓
I wouldn't say it was the hardest.Personally I found it a bit challenging but still a little easier than june 2014
phymath tutor has said that he won't upload model answers of unofficial mrkschemes. **** :frown:

It's wrong. The correct answer is 39.I ended up writing 1 number higher(40) So I lose 1 mark out of the total. You had to use logs.
EDIT:Wait You're referring to a different question.I'm talking about the other N where you had to use logs and stuff. As far this answer goes I think 66 is right.
