A levels are way too easy

I had a fair bit of idea about the content. It's not like I started from scratch.

If you got a U in mock then you must have looked up every question.

And if you look it up once do the question and move on, you still wouldn't "know" it.

It might be the case that you have an exceptional short term memory and are able to retain most of what you looked at in a few days, but most people couldn't.

I did like 8 past papers in 2 days. I don't think I have exceptional memory, especially considering I always forget where I leave my stuff.

I got a U in my mock because I messed up bad. My knowledge was still a tad bit existent. Believe it or not, you can still have knowledge about the content a bit and get a U.

How are your A2s going?

Not gonna lie but they are going pretty bad.

So the crux of the thread is that A2s are too hard compared to AS?

I did Geography, Math, Chemistry and Biology in AS.

Geography is a much easier subject compared to Math, Biology, Chemistry. Anyway... I was predicted 3 D's and an E (In bio) and my teachers expected me to fail completely.

I started studying 2 days before each exam and managed to get an A in all 4 of my subjects. This just goes to show that A levels are way too easy*.

Thing for me is that I used to revise before like daily and then I just used to forget the stuff when the exam time came and was too lazy to study it so I stopped studying all together and just studying when close to exams and I managed to get amazing results.

I am no genius student..and I am not exactly smart. (I got Us in my mock this year as well).. I just think that A levels should be more harder as years fly. (2016>2015- not the reverse) Especially for subjects like Biology, Chemistry & Math. These subjects are already at a very high prestige comparatively so it doesn't make sense to make them easier.

I agree that they shouldn't be too easy but I don't think its fair that one year group has a better chance of getting a good grade than another year group simply due to the increasing difficulty of the exam papers. For example, sit a paper in 2014 and get an A. Sit it in 2016 and get a B/C with the same amount of revision.

Just wait for A2 Geography bud. You'll be wishing you did not exist, to put it politely.

I'm doing Edexcel A2 Geography. It is by far the easiest subject I have ever taken, & also the most interesting. I should have taken Psychology instead of Chemistry as well, a much more interesting subject.

2014 said this about 2012. 2018 will say the same about 2016.

Well all of the past papers (for my subjects anyway) from 2005-2014 are of the same difficulty imo. 2015 is when things got switched up.

To be honest I feel the same way. Maybe because that was when I gave my AS papers and found them to be harder than the previous. But then I realize that if I just start going next level like the papers have, I can adapt to them. Of course I failed at that, but the grade boundaries saved me. (I think idk)

Yeah me too. I've started doing international papers as practice because thats what our papers are becoming like, sometimes even harder. But I guess the main thing is that everyone will be affected by the harder papers and this should be reflected in the lower grade boundaries (hopefully).
