U basically described what reflux is lol. I mean u should get the mark if the examiner isnt being a bitch.

The amount of space they gave you to write your answer surely indicated that you must write something more than just fractional distillation, well that's what I thought anyway 😬

After some thought i'll put reflux in the mark scheme as well. Seems more suitable imo

Mr of P is 31 though so the answer in the end should be 0.451/3 metre cubed and many people have got this answer

I was about to make that mistake until i noticed it was P4 so i multiplied 31 by 4 and got 124. It was a common trick that aqa likes to do and u fell for it and i was close lol.
Which question are people on about where the answer is fractional distillation?

1c when it asked how could u separate the 2 compounds

I think I put something about heating the mixture above 6 degrees (the boiling temp of the compound with the lowest boiling point) and collecting the gas. Put from the answers it looks like I've got that one wrong.
I spelt fractional distillation stupidly as fractional distilation, reckon i'd get the mark?
It it mentioned boiling boints..the most obvious one is fractional distillation? Right?
Would u get it for saying 'heating and evaporating as they evaporate at different points'
For empirical formula I forgot to do Cu!! So I had a compound of just C H and O. Will i lose all these marks ;(

I originally did that then realised and added it in! It's hard to say because they usually mark it line by line. If quite a few people have done it though they might allow a couple of the marks. It's not too many don't worry. I've messed up way more than that
I said to heat the mixture up to 6 degrees. Kinda think fractional distillation was what they were looking for but why give 2 lines for 2 words
I put that one of the compound has sulphur so you can combust to form so2 - looks completely wrong now lol

I think if it was an actual chemistry teacher marking them or someone who actually knew what you meant would give you the mark but because the markers of aqa don't specialise in that subject they go strictly by the mark scheme so it's hard to say

Im the exact same here's hoping they accept it 🙌🏻
I did that too, i dont even remember seeing cu in the question...
I think I got 55. **** my life. That's not even an A

It could be an A. This is unofficial so don't trust it 100%. Just concentrate on getting the high marks in chem4 and 5. Good luck

Do you think they will accept 2,2,4 methylpentane instead of 2,2,4 trimethylpentane

Posted from TSR Mobile

No sorry. They will specifically look for the tri part.
e) Shapes question - SF6 = Octohedral , 90 degrees -SF4 = See-Saw shape. Lone pair on the horizontal plane. Angles 90, 120 or 180 degrees. Probably will accept -2.5 degrees off each angle. (6)

For this I wrote 118, only -2 degrees off would I get it??
