Under 17

So assuming I meet the conditions of my requirement, I will be going to university in Glasgow at the start of this term, however I won't be turning 18 until January of 2017. I know that at the start of university especially freshers going out to bars/clubs is a really big part of socialising and I really don't want to miss out on it. It's worth noting that i look really old for my age, people sometimes don't belive me when i tell them i won't be 18 for so long. Does anyone else have a similar situation? Will clubs/bars be really strict with ID and is it worth gettinga fake ID? Anyway it'd be good if you could leave a comment, thanks

A lot of clubs in university cities ask for ID no matter how old you look. I never got ID'd at home under 18, but at uni I often do at clubs, pubs (particularly wetherspoons) and the odd supermarket.
Worth asking in Glasgow specific forum however
to be honest I would wait til you're 18 to go if you still can... most places will want ID and you'll struggle to fit in if you keep being sent home

if you do go at 17 DO NOT LIE TO YOUR FLATMATES... I lived with a guy who was 17, was too scared to tell us so first we heard was when he got refused entry to a club (yes he went and tried to get in with his underage ID) after we'd all paid... we'd have been happy to buy him some beers and stay in but because he'd lied he really made things difficult
