It will be 300 positions in total, just separate advertisements for internal and external applicants.

Ah cool, wasn't too sure on that.

Yeah, think they're taking on 600 in total! That combined with this campaign takes it to over 1000 nationwide not including the posts advertised in September. Hopefully the people from this campaign who got put on the reserve list (not sure if there was one?) will now be getting provisional offers!

They won't have got enough suitable candidates from this recruitment, hence they've still got vacancies to fill and are re-advertising. As the other poster has mentioned it won't be two sets of 300, it will be 1 x 300 recruited via 2 campaigns.

The last campaign wasn't well advertised for existing civil servants (didn't come up in most people's job alerts) so this one should attract more of them.
Does anyone know when HMRCs pay settlement date is?
Panic over regarding the 3 month thing - CSR made an error:

Good Morning Thank you for your e-mail. Please accept my apologies for miss-informing you in my previous e-mail, as you have stated tax professional role I assumed you were relating to our tax specialist programme which is due to commence later in the year. I have checked the progress of your application on CSR/159/16 and it appears your checks in still in progress, checks can take up to 20 working days for completion and once checks are complete you will receive an e-mail confirming checks are complete. The vacancy holder will also be advised once checks are cleared and will then be able to arrange your formal offer of employment. If CSR require any further information to help progress your pre-employment checks we will request this from you via e-mail. Kind regardsCivil Service Resourcing

I am on the reserve list for Glasgow. Anyone moved from reserve into post for Glasgow? Does the fact it has been readvertised mean everyone on the reserve list will get placed? Tempted to reapply! Thanks

I have a provisional offer for Glasgow waiting on checks
Not sure if anyone else has checked, but I called the Disclosure & Barring Service to check on progress of my criminal records check and they haven't received it from HMRC/CSR yet. I received my provisional offer on 13th May and accepted that day.

Not sure if they start the other checks first (seems a bit silly not to do this immediately, as this is what could take time). I've returned the Health Declaration and had discussion with them over my working pattern, so they are doing something. My two referees haven't heard anything yet either.

If anyone else wants to check if a DBS application has been submitted they can contact DBS on 0300 0200 190.

I have had absolutely no communication whatsoever from them since they sent me my provisional offer on 09/05.

No Health Declaration? They actually sent me that twice

I dunno why I'm expecting anything different; it's total chaos and incompetence when my Dept recruits.

I would like to know this too... You would think that all on reserve lists (like me) would get places if they are starting another competition for the same job.

Not a thing. I'm not surprised. My area of the civil is just the same. I've emailed CSr jobs twice now. No response from them either!!

I think that's a very unjust thing to say. The department that deal with this stuff is severely understaffed and there are what feels like 20 campaigns currently going on. Cut them a bit of slack.

A real shame they're not recruiting in Birmingham with this new HO campaign..

In fairness this campaign has been a disaster. Understandably if they are understaffed, however I was initially informed I had been removed from waiting list as I had not attended interview. Trying to get in touch with them was a nightmare as a non civil servant. It took three months to rectify and after recieving a provisional offer on the 12th of May and completing my DBS check the same day, I contacted the DBS and no application has been recieved! I have emailed them again but I don't expect any joy to be fair. Posts were initially expected to commence in January!
Is everyone else getting their emails from people on the Individuals & Small Business Compliance team (ISBC) or a different business area?

(Sorry - those that are actually getting any correspondence!)

I received an email from the ISBC today as I was pressing them for a start date and they said potentially around 27th June (I've gone for Manchester) but still awaiting pre employment checks.
I'm currently on a reserve list do you know if there is a way you could find out your position on the list?

I've emailed them but they said they can't tell me because of the complexities of the campaign. Very frustrating!

I also got an email today asking if I would be interested in any of a list of other locations. Did you get this? I am on the reserve list for Belfast.
