That paper was terrible. Much harder than last year. Did anyone get that bearings question?

I used the sine rule to get the distance from the start to the oak tree, think I got 292.38
Then used trig to get the shortest distance to the path.
Sin(30)=d/292.38
D= 146.19
~146

Anyone else?

I used the sine rule too, but I forget my answers.

For the last question what did everyone get?

Anyone got the papers too?

I Got a similar answer for that but I've only realised that I used the two angles given, should I have found out the missing angle and use it?
Also does anyone have an idea what you would need to get an A or an B on that paper, even in my case a c?

Think I got (x+3)^2 + (y-2)^2 = 25

I barely got answers to them questions... I have the question paper to both if that's what you mean.

That is what i got too.

1)a) y=4x-(1\x)+4
b)ii) 4.61
3)a)-19.5,-160 - something like that.
4)i) 242m
ii) 213m
5)i)59.3
ii)130
6)a) -2
b)-1.58
8)b=2
(x+3)^2 + (y-2)^2 = 25

I don't remember exactly what I got as my answers but it looks familiar! I got the same for 6b and 8

Sine rule was 200/sin30 = x/sin40, so x = 200sin40/sin30 = 257.12, trig from there?

This is what I did. I then used sine rule again followed by pythagoras to get 242m

I got that too, and for the shortest distance i got 266 i think
Anoyone have access to the paper?

Using trig, the shortest distance = 257.12sin70 = 242?

Aw damn I did x/sin110=200/sin40

Oh well

sin40? If you had done sin30 then you could have done an alternate method, from what I can see  You sure you didn't?
I stored some answers on my calculator:

137, 257, 357, 266, 59.3, 119, -1.58,

324, 256 - my values for n and k

Yeah I think I drew the diagram wrong, would need to see the question to see what I done.
