Along with question 4 not sure on a and b

For.first one e^y=x so y log 2 e = log 2 x i think

Change of base rule.

But surely Ln can't be used for a change of base rule

Change of base of log formula for first one.

Factor formulae for 4a.

What exactly do you mean by factor formulae,

ln(x)ln (x) is loge(x) log_e (x), so why not?

Check your formula booklet or C3 textbook :h:
Is it worthwhile doing the old papers from like 2007-2009? They seem so easy compared to recent papers??

I did not know that, thank you

In the june 14 R paper ... question 3(i)a) why does the denominator disappear after the first step once you've found the common denominator? Thanks in advance

They do seem a bit easier, but there are things in them that haven't come up in a while, like inverse trig equations, which may be useful.

Common denominator on LHS & RHS multiplying through will give you 1/1 cancelling it out.

Functions ff and gg are such that g(x)=1x2,2.5x3.5g(x) = \frac{1}{x-2}, 2.5 \leq x \leq 3.5 and f(x) = ln(2x+5)

a. State the range of g(x).

b. State the domain of f(x).

c. State the domain of f(g(x)) and calculate the range.

d. Find f(g(x)).

e. Find the inverse function of f(g(x)) and state its domain.

f. Find the derivative of f(g(x)) with respect to x.

@undercxver :mmm:

How comes you mentioned me? :K:

I was trying to understand it but tbh I can't.

Spoiler

Thanks a lot though. :jumphug:
I'm so depressed I did like no work today and did an M1 paper which I messed up. C3 is looming and I'm only at around 84-88UMS :frown:

My life = a mess

S'okay  I just do that, get through life one exam at a time then focus revision purely on the next one.

If you have a bad day, go to sleep and try again the next day  that's what i do.

Thanks, I just can't shake the feeling of impending doom and that all my future goals will be messed up if I mess up

I wouldn't blame you at this hour.. best to be getting enough sleep.

Yes, there is pressure, but it is not the end of the world if you don't do as well as you'd expected (there are places other than Cambridge that exist!) but for now, the focus should be on doing as well as you can in the exam and that is all that you can do. Also keep learning from past papers and looking at what's stopping you from getting those final 10-15 UMS.
