Hard to say but I've always managed to find a common favourite movie with other friends... I'll leave a list here and you go pick out whatever you want

Movies:

All Nolan movies (Inception, Interstellar, TDK trilogy, Memento, The Prestige)

Marvel movies (Iron Man, Cap. America... plotwise not that great but I do enjoy all of them)

Superhero movies in general

IMDb top 250 movies (Shawshank Redemption, Schindler's List, Forrest Gump, Se7en, Life is Beautiful, The Pianist, The Green Mile)

Gladiator, Django Unchained, Inglourious Basterds, Wolf of Wall Street, Planet of The Apes

Drama: Good Will Hunting, A Beautiful Mind, Warrior, Gone Girl, Revenant, 12 Years a Slave, Catch me if you can, Dead Poets Society, The Martian

TV series

House of Cards, Daredevil

Game of Thrones (who doesn't!!!!)

Peaky Blinders, Broadchurch, Sherlock

Suits, Prison Break, HIMYM, Billions, The Blacklist, The Mentalist

Arrow, Gotham (both my guilty pleasures :colondollar:)

Currently on: Peaky Blinders, GoT, The Man in the High Castle

Keep in mind that I've been watching movies and TV series for many many years now and I'm not that much of a bingewatcher. :h: I just like to enjoy good quality movies/series and I'll hope to help out the Student Cinema if I have enough free time. Also, there are sooo many films/series I haven't listed so let me know what kinda stuff you like!

Deffo looking forward to Prison Break seaon 5 and Suits S06! Crime/investigation is really interesting if they manage to get enough in-depth with the story. I'm afraid uni will require me to cut down on pursuing that hobby and instead focus on studying/socialising with other people. :/

Were you a student who helped out in this role or an 'outside'-nonstudent? Would love to do this if there's a student job for this. Also, can I specifically indicate that I need some 'cheap' acoomodation?

**** man you watch everything lol , same here. What course you doing

I like marvel movies a lot, as well as Arrow, and I've been meaning to check out Gotham because I've heard good things about it!
I really enjoy Shawshank Redemption and Gone Girl, and I love Sherlock and Prison Break

It's a role that's open to postgraduate students and members of university staff. You don't specify "cheap" accommodation per se but you list a number of residences in order of preference and are then allocated to a hall by a blind computer ballot. You can just list the cheap halls (weekly prices available online) if that's where you want to live. Most new students end up being allocated to one of their preferences.

The people who are occasionally disappointed are those that only list new/expensive halls as they are sometimes over-subscribed.

As I said, Arrow is my guilty pleasure (i.e. don't really care what happens and turning my brain off) and the whole series gets repetitive very fast. At some point I just didn't know what to watch lol. Would choose any British or Netflix TV series over Arrow any day.
I don't watch The Flash (or Legends of Tomorrow) tho, simply because I reckon they are just another mediocre series (maybe better than Arrow apparently) but didn't really have any motivation for it in general haha.

Gotham is another of my guilty pleasures :colone:. Gets repetitive very fast, characters are very flat sometimes but it's always nice to enjoy seeing Bruce Wayne grow up. And looks like we've got lots in common! So movie wise, we'd never run out of topics xD

Hello introverts!

BA Law with humanities/SS (undecided). Mature, 2nd degree student. Will probably try to get to know people through societies/clubs/projects...likely to have similar interests that way. And I prefer conversation organized around a task.
I saw that you started a conversation about tv series. Here are almost all the onest that I've watched - http://www.myepisodes.com/users/alexinho/signature/sig90.png?hash=450aa885487a136a2043f382a8f1beaa1d989
I think Mr. Robot and Fear the walking dead are missing. I plan to watch Vikings and Narcos this summer, after the final exams of course.

I have a conditional offer to study computer science and I am thinking about choosing Cryfield as my accomodation. If you want to chat and get to know each other, just send me a PM

I don't but I'll try to get my hands on it as I don't really have access to it as I'm from Austria

I am indeed no social butterfly, and it's going to be a much harder work for me to adapt to the environment as I'm a full year Erasmus student. Btw, do you guys have any suggestions for the cheapest accomodation options? Whitefields looks nice, but I'd surely go for Cryfield if it weren't just 34 weeks. What do you think about the twin rooms at Sherbourne? Would that be risky?

Plus, I really like how brilliantly unsettling Black Mirror is. When will the 3rd season come out?

Either end of this year or early 2017 on netflix. Its apparently gonna be 12 episodes this season 😀
That sucks that the majority of you are setting limitations. I think University is where the majority will break their mould, so being afraid or nervous isn't the way to go

Agree but at least it offers those kinda people a little comfort knowing that there will be others with similar attitudes/interests just in case 'breaking their mould' is just not their thing.

How many others are thinking of Lakeside/Heronbank/Sherbourne with their course in Math/CS/Engineering?

I feel like the southern halls (Rootes/arthur/jack etc..) with the exception of bluebell are the part halls and the ones up by the river are the quieter ones. I would put Bluebell down but its pretty expensive, look damn nice though!

CS course hopeful here, I thought a lot about accommodations but still can't decide u_u
Sherbourne is one I will definitely put in, though.
Bluebell as well, but I heard it's not very sociable...

What did y'all choose for accommodation, I put bluebell, heronbank, authur Vick, claycroft and rootes. I however stated that my non-interst in clubbing/drinking does not mean I'm not a lively person.

Basically just tried to sell the point that in interested and excited to meet people too but I'm not into clubbing and drinking.
