M1 - tricky resolving forces question

Hey guys,

Really stuck on b). Managed to get tan(30) for a). Really don't understand what to do - I'm aware that a component of x must be acting up the slope, hence xsin(some angle) = R

But I have no Clue how to find this angle :/

Mg is the weight of the particle which I couldn't see from the question.

The force X is horizontal to the slope so the angle between the force and slope is the same as the angle between the ground and slope. Then you can resolve that force and then find out R.
