sorry for layout :s

thank you very much for your help!

Can someone please explain the use of ICT in healthcare?

How likely is it that another 18 marker will come this monday exam?

Very unlikely.

However, if you look at may of the last parts of section A, it typically is actually 18 marks but is split up into an 8 mark part a) and a 10 mark part b) (sometimes vice versa)

In ICT do not be intimidated by something such as an 18 mark question as the marks are very easy to pick up as illustrated by the home entertainment question. (remember to deduct two marks for the QWC to make it even less intimidating).

By doing your past papers the questions become transparent, the most important part is understanding where the marks actually come from. Every time home entertainment comes up, its basically the same question again and again, except sometimes they want you to arrange it in a certain way ie: reserving health concern disadvantages of home entertainment for the part b) etc...

With that said, don't worry if a massive question like that appears as the marks are awarded in a totally different way than in say, English literature or business etc... where you must work your a** off for the marks. Very little analysis or thought required in ICT, just a case of learning the markschemes and trotting out what you remember in the exam, which is exactly why this qualification is being scrapped as it is so impractical.

You could well lose marks. The marker may find it difficult to find the evidence. If they cannot find it then no marks will be awarded.

These markers dont get paid much per paper so not many of them will be conscientious enough to look for the evidence thoroughly if you have failed to properly display the location of each feature.

Your best bet is probably to say the page number and draw a box around each relevant cell or feature which you have talked about in your answers

Thanks for this

By this do you mean circle it on the evidence sheet?
If so, I won't be seeing the evidence sheet again before the exam, so can I do this in the exam?

Thanks again

When referencing screenshots, it's page number, if like 3 screenshots on one feature showing before, during and after you'd separate them I.e 7a, 7b, 7c then cell number of where the feature is. E.g. page 7, 7a , cell number d5. Examiner won't give any marks for section b if no page numbers is present & probably cell numbers too. I don't think circling is a good idea. And screenshots shouldn't contain any description of features also.

Yeah I think so , so we can know if we are ready for this or not

Hi, i have a question regarding AA923's predicted questions mock paper.

for part "(b) Encoding value judgements from a questionnaire can often lead to inaccurate results. Explain with the use of two appropriate examples why this may happen. [2x2]"

Could you please provide an answer for this as i have no clue how to answer this particular question especially the examples.

Thank you!

Encoding can coarsen (worsen) data and the loss of precision must be weighed against its advantages, e.g. Hair colour survey light brown, mousey, dark brown would all be classified as brown because all the categories are not present.
Subjective judgements e.g. someone may be asked was that meal ‘Excellent’, ‘Very Good’, ‘Good’, or ‘Poor’. One person’s excellent meal is only a good meal for another.

You'll get one mark for the reason and then a mark for an example!

Hyperlinks - These are objects/text which when clicked upon take you to another file, image, or a different part of your current presentation. (1 mark)Could be used in the tutorial by clicking on an object/text to take them to an online demonstration of some feature. (2 marks)
Frame - A Frame is a section of a webpage in which semi-independent activities can take place. (1)Suitable example e.g. an area with a menu or group of links. (1)
HTML Hypertext markup language is the programming code used to make the page and will contain details about fonts, colours, tables and images used.
Advantages of HTML:
Can placegraphics more accurately
Can have more control over the layout / allows better customisation
Likely to takeup less memory / less demanding on the system
Loads fasterthan using a template
Compatibility -enables to be displayed on a number of different platforms
Animation Creating a key frameanimation which loads very quickly when visiting pages

Pretty sure that is it for web pages, this is from the spec:
Web Authoring(Web Pages) - hyperlinks, formatting, use of animation, frames, HTML(note - understanding of the programming is not required).
